Also google these photographers: Ray Metzker, Aaron Siskind, Harry Callahan, Garry Winograd, Lee Friedlander, Joel Meyerowitz, Paul Strand, Henri Cartier-Bresson for examples of street photography. |

I had gave this shot a 6 in the challenge, I liked it but it is expert editing and was looking for more I think iwth xyanart's changes I would have bumped it up to 7 or 8. (The score I give depends on if I have had coffee or not.)

Yea he does:
This kindof makes me think of Cutter´s Triptych ribbon. Anyway, a nice shot and pretty well captured, think I would have liked it better if the eagle had been in the upper right corner and not the left and I personally may even have gone so far as to move it since that´s allowed in the ruleset but I respect that you didn´t. A small halo around the bird though that bothers me, you sure your monitor isn´t a little too bright? Anyway, great shot, 7 from me
I was looking for a magic control I didn't know about??? There are losts of those out there.

winnogrand is a god. when he died, he left thousands of undeveloped and unpritned images. he's someone who lived with is camera. i remember seeing a documentary on him, and he was unrelenting. he reveled in the 35 mm, autofucos,(i think he started with large format), adnwould literally hold a camera out and click.

The moralist in me is forced to point out that this would leave you technically unlicensed to use the product. |

Originally posted by xianart: there ya go, i gave you two alternate edits of the hoe sweet home, which is a nice image, by the way.
of course, alternate edits are purely subjective, and just what i would do with the pic. but it's always interesting to see what others would do, then you can take ideas and adapt them for your own use.
that's all artists do anyway - steal ideas and change them for themselves. there's very little out there that's truly original - we all feed off each other.
that's not being cynical, i think it's great. it's called learning! |
I like the idea of editing other members photos. It's interresting to see what others would do. I would like to have someone see what they could do with some of mine. |

Christian, you say you work with "masks" alot - this is a concept which has thus far eluded me. I have a couple of books at home and may actually open one up and see what it says, but failing that, would you be willing to do a very short tutorial in how to create/use masks, or if you know of a good online tutorial, point us in the right direction? |

Praise the deity of your choice, but lo and behold, I have internet at a speed faster than 3K/s!! Me, I'll praise Thomas Edison, for without him we'd all be powerless. :-)
I can go vote and comment now! (Well, at least try to finish up the ones I started.) Woo AND hoo! |

Woo Hoo, Deb! I'll give you some hints on voting - when you come across my photos, give them all 10's. You'll know the one in centered composition 'cause the subject is in the middle of the picture. |

LOL! I'll keep an eye out for it. My "didn't enter centered composition" shot is in my portfolio. |

I found your centered picture. It was easy to find once you told us the subject was in the middle. I gave you a 10. Mine is the other picture with the subject in the middle. Will you give me a 10? |

Sounds like you don't need any help from me with that score, Bob! I probably did give it a 10! |

Okay, team, I've gotta toot my horn a little, 'cause this will probably never happen again. I've got TWO scores hanging just above 6.0!
