Maybe you should go shoot in your feverish state. You might come up with some unintended total brilliance - and if you do, can I borrow it? |

Huh? Is that a song title? I see carrots lit by a mirror ball smoking cigarettes if that's the case... |

So even though I am a proud card-carrying (we need cards, or T-shirts) member of Team Suck, I'm taking advantage of my geographical location and advanced age (which allows one to spend recklessly without guilt) to attend the European DPC workshop this summer. I am by far the most lowly photog on the list. One of my goals is to actually touch Joey Lawrence just to see if the tiniest bit rubs off. The only reason I'm posting this here is to let the ladies know they should go read Kiwiness' last post in that thread then let me know if you think he's just yanking my chain. :-)

Funniest comment I've read in a long time at the bottom of the pic you're talking about, Deb:
Comment from Alecia: "man...i just want to thank his parents. ;)"
Svetlana, what's a "dh"? Dear husband?

I'd like to thank his parents, too. And for those of you who don't know, part of the workshops will be model photography - he's one of the models. I'll make sure I get enough shots for both of us, Kelli. |

Wow, there's already 165 entries in Best Of 2006. That is going to be some serious voting. Will everyone from Team Suck be entering this challenge? |

I'm in and proud of my picture. I don't know how it will score, but I pulled it from my portfolio. Hopefully there won't be too many people who recognise it as mine. Though I know some of you will.

I, too, have pulled one from my portfolio. Still need to re-edit it for the challenge size, though. I know which one yours is, Kelli - pretty sure, anyway. And that skull you just uploaded? You should use that and play with Christian's masking stuff - do a blur around the skull, give it a vignette, make it sepia. :-) |

I was something like #5 to enter. :) There was only one entry when I started editing!
I also pulled one that's been featured prominently in my portfolio, but I've been waiting for this challenge so I could enter it.

im going through all of my pics from last year looking for a best of...
strangely, they're all street photography. considering how mediocre my current scores are in centered and free study, i'm going to keep looking.

My intention is to enter all the free studies.

I think I actually saw your post about that, as it is ringing a bell. Too bad they didn't send the camels down here to Charleston, SC. It's about 80 degrees today. No lie. |
Actually, it's Jeff's idea that rings a bell.

This one of -Bec-'s is in my favorites - it was from the 30 Day Self Portrait exercise and is simply an awesome shot.

Kelli let me play with her skull so I could practice doing things in layers...
But let me add that I REALLY liked what she did with it for the HE challenge:

that's a tough Q:)
I started taking photos in august 2006 with canon ixus500 - I guess I can't use those pics since it only took them in jpg
and almost all th other photos taken with d50 have the year 2005:)
so I don't really know what I can enter:(

You can use pictures shot in jpeg - just as long as you have the original unedited version with the exif data intact. A lot of people shoot in jpeg.

thank you Deb!
but there's a line in the rules:
"Requirements
Your submission must be:
taken with a digital camera that records EXIF data."
:( so I thought it's not allowed. how would they know the date if it's a jpg? |
|
|

I think you're confusing RAW with EXIF, maybe. I'm pretty sure the camera you have records EXIF with the jpeg. There are several freeware EXIF viewers you can use to check, or just use Photoshop to see the data. |
