the funny thing is that this image is probably the most interesting one taken all night and it could have been shot with a kit lens ;) |

Ok, I'm about to show my ignorance (again). What is the purpose of all the cameras mounted on the blue bar? Are they remotely controlled? I see a bunch of antennas, but surely that would only be for shutter release. How do they aim? |

Pre-aimed for one area of action. I doubt it's a sporting event. Probably some politicians speech or something. |

Looks to me like they are setting up for the "Live Head to Head" finale of the "Another photoshop smackdown" thread.
A surprise thundershower would make this a frantic scene for sure.

Looks like it's the Athens 2004 Olympics, men's 100 meter finals. More photos at the photographer's Pbase Gallery. This guy has a photo-fetish for big ones.
