Not really, but wouldn't it be sweet to have a lens like this:

It would be very sweet to have such a lens provided you also have a servant to carry the thing for you. Although with a 14 - 1200 mm zoom i could just stay in my livingroom and take all the nature shots i want ;)
How do you stabilize such a lens? Do you use multiple or specialized tripods or something like that? |

I think I would have to get to the gym for 3 months first... - at least if I wanted it stable... |

In case anyone was interested in the specs. Someone suggested in the dpreview forums that this thing would sell in the range of USD 60-70k. It's amazing how fast the lens is.
Still, combining Canon's 1200mm fixed telephoto with a 2x TC would give you comparable results. Imagine the moon shots you could get. At USD 100k, it might be cheaper to fly to the moon. |

man imagine taking that on a day hike for some nature shots.....
heck my 8" 2000mm telescope is smaller and MUCH cheaper, but its an f10, but it gives GREAT moon shots though

That's a good investment if you're a paperazzi photographer and get a couple of good (meaning bad) celebrity shots out of it. We're sure glad though that you mentioned this price. Now we all feel very modest about our photog gadget addictions and should feel no qualms when we want to buy more stuff.
