Can we use a shot from our portfolio? My guess is that it is a little unfair as folks may recognize it, but is it fair/legal for the challenge? |

Yes - either hide it or remove it, but a lot of people will be using shots that have been in their portfolios at one time or another. It just cannot be anything that's already been in a challenge. |

Can we use a photo that is VERY similar to one we have had in a challenge, but is actually a different file and processed better?

I believe the answer is (based on a similar thread elsewhere) that as long as it is indeed a different exposure than the challenge exposure, then yes. (Aren't I helpful this evening?) |

Nothing wrong with that. After all, you can recognize the same models, locations, etc over and over again. Almost like putting your signature on the picture :P |

Darn, darn, darn. This challenge was posted the day we left for Hawaii, and ends before we get back. Dang! |

Wow already up to 421 and just under 2 days still to submit. This is going to be huge.
Generally numbers double in the last day but this is different to a normal challenge, we aren't waiting for people to go out and shoot something, process and upload at the last minute.
I wonder what we will end up at?

I am nervous about this challenge, there must be some so amazing entries that I just feel intimidated... And also, I am submiting a picture with a completely new editing style... I just hope not to go really down with this :(

Looking at your portfolio you have nothing to be nervous about. You are quite talented. |

I'm in this one, and I feel SOOOOOOOO good about my entry. In fact, I've never felt quite THIS optimistic about an entry. However, 620 entries and 4 more hours until rollover. I hate big challenges like this. Bodes pessimistic for lots of voters and comments. Grrrr. |

I hope to get a 6. I am in a big time slump. With 800 possible entries, a 6 might be hard, but I sure hope so. I would like to be in the top 400. |

Geeze, 650 entries and counting. Think I am going to drop my entry as I don't really want to end up past 750th place :-/ |

Comment on every image? Dude, you're gonna be slack-jawed and staring vacantly by the end of the week. |

I am so ready to vote. I am going to make a night out of it. These are going to be great! The best images that each photographer might have taken for an entire year. So many great potential shots. Which one will blow us away? Which one will move me emotionally? Which one will tell me a story? I cannot wait! |

Exactly...the images and photographers deserve it. And I am consciously gonna give each image my time..

Pace your self, 125 a day. I made it through about half of the last free study when my DSL kicked it, and I was starting to feel the burn. I think it would be easier with voice recognition of some kind. |

I agree. Best of is usually a pretty strong field. I'm not gonna stay up tonight though. I'm probably not even going to make the rollover. I'll see you all Friday night for a voting marathon (and some commenting). |
