So, "table shot". What do you reckon?
Is this a free study? I mean, technically I could take a table, plonk it anywhere and take a shot, or do you reckon that would get DNMC, because it has to be somewhere you'd expect to see a table?
I think nude is out, being as I doubt people would appreciate some kind of myspace-stylee nekkid shot of me. Least of all me, as I'd then have to have it in my profile.

Ya know.....I know that you're not supposed to enter a pic that's been in a challenge before, but I think if you can come up with one pic that would fly three challenges at once that have at least a couple of days of overlap, that you should be allowed to go for it!
In reality, you'd have to have one heck of a pic for it to do well, so it's not like it'd be in danger of taking a ribbon in all three challenges, but man.....can't you just imagine what a wild pic that'd have to be to do that!

| Well, I put something in Minimalism. Not that great, as it needs some minimal adjustments, but I was honest and didn't make them. I predict a truly sucky score! |

I predict a few DNMC comments, a lot of DNMC votes, and perhaps even a good comment from Posthumous on my minimal entry. I predict a 5.3 on my maximal entry. I like the two challenges - it would have been a lot easier to do them the other way around, which is why I like them the way they are.
I have a potential Free Study that will score below 5.5 but is really kinda nice. Besides, I kinda pride myself in free study entries that score in the medium range but get some good comments. I'm just not sure about the comments part on this one. I have another option that would get "ooohs!", maybe, but not sure I want to enter that one. |

I predict a lot of DNMC comments and votes on my minimalism. I like it though. I'm predicting a high 3. Could even be a brown. My Fill the Frame should be around 5. For FS I'm hoping to have some time to edit this weekend. The hours I'm putting in on an iffy job are killing me. I might have to work this weekend as well.

You CAN go for it. The rule is that any one image can be entered in only one challenge. Just set it up and hit the shutter three times. :) Or if your camera, like, mine, can do multiple shots from one shutter press, do it that way. Check out the custom timer settings. Mine can do anywhere from 1 to 30 seconds and then take 1-10 shots.

I'm back after spending a couple of days with my daughter and new son-in-law. I put them on the boat for their honeymoon cruise this afternoon.
Thanks to everyone who left the nice comments on my Match entry. And thanks to everyone for your congratulations. I'm sorry I didn't have time to thank you individually. I just finished catching up on this thread (I'm a very slow reader), and now have to catch up on things like looking for OOBIES.
Which brings me to my next point. Hooray for Team Novice. We finally did it!!!!
I've got my entries in for Minimal, Fill the Frame, and Free Study. But I haven't had time to even think about Nude, Shallow DOF, or Table Shot. My real priority right now is to get five prints made for entry in the annual photo contest at Loxihatchee National Wildlife Refuge. The deadline for entry is Feb. 2, and it's fast approaching. |

I'm in Fill the Frame, with a real departure from my usual. I tried some new fun tricks with PS, and really like the result. May get some DNMC comments. Couldn't get my act together for minimalism.

Sigh......so my Best of 2006 keeps creeping up in score, and I don't really care, and my Wildlife keeps creeping down.....and I do.

I'm not happy with my score for "Best Of" either but the fact that someone put it down as a fave has still got me riding high.
i'm very happy with both of my submissions for tonight.
I'm starting to feel it again today. i've been kind of out of the loop for the last few weeks but i think i'm going to bang a few out for entropy with these.
let the sucking begin!

with a top 3 that are all over six i doubt you have much to worry about.
team suck members are still a fighting force on this site...
some of us just don't look good in a kilt but that's nothing to be held against us.

As far as taking us anywhere, hey if my fluke was a help, cool!
I just submitted for Free Study.....that'll be a tough one, but I really like my pic.
I'm happier in general with the way my stuff is coming out.....I still want to score well, but what I like is that I'm becoming so much happier for myself with the quality and the gratification I'm getting from my work.
Who knew?
Edit: I just realized, except for nude, I have an entry in everything coming up....except table which I can't 'cause I'm in DOF.
