The only way I can seriously see this working is if you create a htm page with 2 frame, no scrollers on each frame and in the top frame add flash with your scrollers that you want. Or make the whole intro page in flash and add your scrollers. That's how I would do it.

Thanks for the mention, rinac. Javascript and CSS are indeed a passion of mine.
iframes are useful in some situations, but not necessary here. And flash - well, if Adobe provided a free development tool, maybe I'd use it. =)
You can easily do with javascript and CSS: one div containing another, each having certain styles applied.
The outer div has a defined width (and probably height), with overflow hidden. The inner div simply contains all the images. By moving the inner div's LEFT style, the inner div appears to scroll back and forth inside the outer.
See a quick example here: //www.onetacoshort.com/example/evan.html
This is a simple example of div/div horizontal scrolling piece of the problem. The movement here is controlled by a timer. To make a scroll bar, you'll need to use mouse events (onmouseover, onmousedown, onmousemove, etc.) on the slider image to control the leftOffset. That's a little more complicated than I have time to whip out right now. =)
