Go for it! I predict that the winner will contain only a small amount of actual red. |

I think there were some serious troll voters out yesterday afternoon/ night. Everyone's scores free-fell. I bet it will go back up - I peeked back at mine, and it is on the rise, although it may not cross that 6.0 mark again.
But, Svetlana, I'm far more interested in this: HOW DID THE AWARDS CEREMONY GO? WASN'T THAT LAST NIGHT??? (I realize you are on a different time zone, but ahead, correct?) |

thank you Catherine:)
yeah, I think I am ca 6 hours ahead.
well, I lost the final:) and got a silver second place.
here
I got it for my Russian portrait.
I'll try harder next year.
and I met raish :)
and maybe my free study photo is not really good, so that's why. I don't like blaming trolls:)

Svetlana, the link seems to be broken - please re-post.
I too usually avoid blaming trolls, as I think mostly my photos deserve what they get. However, I noticed a big drop in scores from tons of people yesterday, which usually indicates a series of people voting everyone low. So I suspect your photo may rebound. |

somehow it is hard to believe that all people would vote honestly on other photos in the same challenges where they participate too. (I do know there are many who would vote honestly but still)
ah, there was just a link to my blog and my entry there about the competition:
competition
there were quite many entries: over 900? 1000? as far as I remember.
and all of them there either study photography at schools here in oslo or teach photography at the same schools :) funny. I am wuite happy since I've been taking photos for some months only. I will just try harder next year. |

I don't think taking 2nd place in a real competition is "losing" - congratulations, Svetlana! We here at Team Suck are very proud of you! |

and have no idea what it is:) |

For once my rudimentary knowledge of Swedish comes in handy (pretty close to Norwegian) as I navigate the "vinnere" on the Utsnitt site. Great job, Svetlana! There are truly some beautiful photos showcased, and yours very much holds its own.
Oh, and yes, I do know what the signature award means on Daily Awards. It means that your photo, having garnered at least 15 votes (I think it is 15 votes) was the highest scoring photo in its category today among "signature" voters (signature voters being the higher-ranked voters on that site).

Svetlana, I think we have a very different set of assumptions about people's fundamental honesty. That's reflected, too, in our views on corrupt juries. I presume people are honest until demonstrated to be untrustworthy.
I rarely even think about my entry when voting.
Maybe I'm just an optimist, but it makes life pleasant. :)
The optimist thinks these are the best of times. The pessimist is sure they are. |
