I can't believe how infrequently I charge the battery on my D70s.
I highly recommend spending spare battery money elsewhere!

Fun interview ... I really enjoyed it. Nice to meet you, Susan.
Svetlana ... a belated congratulations on your Silver Newcomer award! I think second out of that many entries is a HUGE win!

OK so its Sunday and in Ireland its raining. We are dying of colds in the Brooks household, football is on the tele but Blakburn Rovers Vs Bolton is not the best we have to offer. My planned photo shoot was called of due to poor weather, So what are you up to today
I have submitted a print for sale of my Red Ribbon, and also another which i hope will sell. I have also submitted a photo to the medicine challenge. I think Red will be limiting in its selection of photos(stop signs, traffic lights, strawberries, paints, neon, roses) so i did not enter. good luck if you did enter BTW.
well done on the interview, i left a comment on the thread.

I'm in for Furniture. Not a bad shot, but not exactly "interesting" either. I predict a 4.8.

Weather here was absolutely delightful today and I spent it with a bear of a headache. Went out this morning to explore Mainz a bit, but ended up coming home and spending the afternoon on the couch. I hate headaches - they ruin so many things. :(
I'm not currently in Furniture. Probably won't be. Have lots of choices for Red, none of which will score well. May or may not enter anything this week! |

I'm off to attempt to shoot for red, alternative medicine or furniture. Needless to say, I'm not exactly a scalvert who probably has a bed set up on the beach somewhere, complete with footlights, some acunpunture needles, and the lunar eclipse in red. Maybe I'll find a red animal. Otherwise, I'm probably out of luck. |

haha. well said. Not that there's anything wrong with being able to get that all set up and then produce a magnificent photo, but I'm more like this: Every now and then I have a brilliant (stunningly brilliant!) idea for a photo, but it usually requires equipment I don't have, techniques I've never even heard of, helpers who disappear as soon as I ask for help, post processing I don't have software for, and it means I would have to get off my butt and do it. I am more inclined to saunter around my house and yard and see what crosses my path or what I trip over. And of course, my scores reflect it. Good thing I'm not in it for the scores and that I'm not very competitive.

Sounds like me too - except that I don't even have a yard to use - just the apartment.

Sounds like me too and I do love those out of the car window shots because I'm kinda lazy.
BTW...how do I join? I really do suck. Is there a certain time to join? |

I just entered a strictly in the box picture of some furniture in the furniture challenge. I entered the less boring of two though, so I shouldn't score too high. |

Raish, nice interview! I'm right there with you on the in the box thing in Furniture. I really should know better than to enter lackluster challenge entries but it's a sickness. This one isn't out of the box, isn't creative, and doesn't even excel as a simple snapshot. But I entered it anyway. Why? Good question.

Does the box qualify as furniture ?

You may well ask. We have at least three 'boxes' to which my wife has attached legs scrounged from thrown away furniture. Two of them are upholstered and covered with the same fabric as the chairs in front of which they act as footstools. They definitely qualify, but none of them are in my entry :) |

I am sucking in the free study, and will probably suck in furniture and red. I'm happy with my shots though! |

Hi everyone. We're back. Whew - what a trip! Loads of memories, loads of pics. I'll probably put up an album of "memory keeper" shots somewhere like shutterfly.com for its slideshow mode and put up a few really nice shots here, like the meerkat I put up a few days ago. Poking through my folders, it looks like I've got pretty nice shots of elephants, gorillas, a tiger, some blackbucks (antelope cousins), and an interesting-looking black bird. Oh yeah, I also got some pretty nice shots of my family, including a wonderful capture of my youngest daughter whirling on the Mad Tea Party.
