I noticed - and thanks. That's why I posted what I did since you weren't sure if you could or not.

Yes, thanks for nominating muur88. Matt has been added to this week's Yappie ballot. Next Wednesday, we announce winners.

Can I nominate two for an Oobie? or take your pick.

1st choice: kiwinick for The Magic Forest

Anyone brave enough to smear vaseline on the camera filter deserves something. I appreciate this photo more as time goes by. During voting I wondered how the effect was achieved, if it might be motion blur, but liked the colour and parallelism which seemed perfect.

2nd choice: karmat for Waiting Patiently for Spring

This photo while very modest is carefully crafted and durable in the long term.

edited for clarity

Judi ...

Did you miss the word "other" ?

You cannot nominate yourself.

Or did you nominate someone other and I missed it?

Team Suck is opening the nominations for two distinguished sucker awards.

If you have ideas for someone who should get an OOBIE or a YAPPIE, please post your suggestions in this thread.

An OOBIE sucker is awarded to an "Out Of the Box" entry in a DPChallenge, something that meets the challenge in a creative fashion that DPC voters might not have properly appreciated. It's helpful to have a statement why you are making the nomination for the OOBIE. Please include the username of the photographer.

A YAPPIE sucker is given to a commentor for either a particular comment or a history of great comments. For the YAPPIE, listing a representative comment with a photo would be, as Martha would say, "a good thing".

Yappie Hall of Fame

This set of nominations will close Saturday, 10mar2007.

I would like to nominate Bob, bmartuch for the Yappie award. He is one of the most consistent yappers on DPC, and always has something both nice and constructive to say.

This one has great OOBIE potential: is it ice? Is it water? Is it a picture of ice/water or of a basketball? Why does the reflection of the basketball seem as if it is rising out of the ice/water and the basketball itself is perched on it? How did the basketball get so precisely THERE? I love this shot!

Wow, R, I've never before experienced such depth in a basketball as that provided in your analysis :-) I must say it is an interesting photo. Nice nomination.

I can't nominate myself, so I won't :-) But this one is either outside the box or under the burlap, take your choice:

For some reason this one by templeman

Not sure it fits the challenge, but I thought it seemed to standout.

But you just won a lifetime OOOOOOBIE, so you can simply add this one to the list of those shots that fall under that award. :)

Trees will be used in this week's calculations since the rollover was midnight last Thursday.

But I also think we threw out the restrictions on nominations on prior entries.
