Is anyone keeping track of how many times each team has won? It seems like Chasing Butterflies is the usual winner, but maybe I'm misremembering. Certainly that team is full of terrific shooters.
But wouldn't it increase participation if we could all vote on the weekly awards? |
Other teams do win. |

Jeffrey, still like the meerkat :-) Team Novice, ooops, we did it again (re: brown). I should count up how many we have and start accessorizing with them. They go nicely with my bedroom suite.
Edit to add: The free study results must not be included in the Momentary Lack of Sucking award this week, 'cause I know that Hipychik had a higher (much higher!) score on her FS than my tree.

OK ... thanks for all the comments ... no the subject was nothing but it was taken under an umbrella in the rain on the walk to the corner store just to try out this "technique" to see what qualities it had ...
For inquiring minds ... it was shot whilst holding a blue HP blank CD in front of the lens ...
again ... thanks for the input ... I am thinking of colour selection and replacement and some other blurry interesting effects some day ... I think it has potential ... I just have to find the right subject, methinks ...

Thank you all. I'm just the gopher - Don is the brains. Now I have to go out and stalk some unsuspecting victims for grain. |

Svetlana, I just spent a little (more) time poking around your portfolio. I so look forward to watching you be discovered bit by bit by the wider world. I have no doubt there are huge things in store for you.
I suggest we just give you the blue ribbon now for the grain challenge. :)

Afternoon suck mates :) Work has slowed down which has allowed me some time to play. I hope to get in to a challenge this week. But to re-enforce my suckage I have for your viewing non enjoyment my latest over processed image :)
I also want to congratulate those who have risen above suckage (or perhaps had a moment of sanity) in the recent challenges.

Hey, there's a fun thread going on over here:
//www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=559848&page=1#3447164
It's a chance to brag about people who have named you a favorite photographer. In my post, I showed one shot I liked from everyone who'd named me. There are quite a few suckers in that post. :)

I cannot believe at least one of you people did not get how that was done ... I thought everyone would say yeah yeah ... CD in front of the lens ... but now I am even more interested in using it in a "lensbaby" kind of way ... ok ... I say that very loosely but you prolly get the idea ... of course with severe uses of such stuff as selective desat and vignettes and colour replacement and blur and and and and and ...

Hey gang - I just got interviewed by lkn4truth and l2 for the DPC Podcast. We spent a fair amount of time on Team Suck. :)
I explained how we're disgusted by most of DPC, turn up our noses at the trash that wins, and generally disain anything in the WPL.
No no, just kidding. :P
Seriously, I explained how suck is an attitude of supportiveness, how we help each other along, how the OOBies and YAPPies work, etc. I wonder whether anyone will pop in and ask about joining after listening to it. :)
I did predict that there would at least be several team suckers who would listen, given our discussion!

That's not the answer! The answer is to sabotage the Butterflies. Put itching powder in their lenscaps, etc. They must be punished for their DPC-friendly photos. |

First, hi there, and welcome back from someone who you haven't met.
Second, cool pic.....I love weird in the first place, and anything high performance with an engine in the second.
Back in the day, these desert rat speed buggies were all some form of VW variant, but they have since evolved into a type of automotive art form of their own.
These guys were the forefront over 30 years ago and are still at it in a big way.

You mentioned in your notes on this pic that you were looking to have info on what you did to pics in PS.
I was directed to click on "Window" at the top of the page and then "History" in that drop-down display and the little box gives you the steps that you took during post processing.
Hope this helps.....

Hi folks.....Sorry I haven't been around lately.
My job at the car auction turned out to be a nightmare, I quit, and have since started at a Ford dealer here in town and it's as far the other end of the spectrum as it gets.
I really like it......it's challenging as all getout, and it's the kind of place that's small enough that I can put my heart and soul into it and make a difference, yet it's big enough that I can go home at the end of the day and not carry the burden of its ownership with me.
Anyhow.....I've been so busy on the curve that I haven't been around.
I entered Free Study, and I was kind of surprised at the massive apathy that my entry got. I liked the way that this shot had the weird cast to the light, the general texture of the surrounding area, and the surreal atmosphere that the scene had. Could I get some commentary, specifically as to what you do and don't like subjectively? I'm already pretty much aware that it's not inspiring to the voters, but I like it and am happy with it, so I'm not going to be offended.....I'd just really like to know what y'all think.
On the challenge front......I'm thinking I have ideas for Crossdress, Circle, Grain, and the next Free Study.
Edit: Phat phinger phluster......8>(
