Jack, hon, 'round these parts them's good scores. :-)

So if you add Svetlana and I together, you still come up a tad short of a Raish?

My D50 goes down to 200 ISO

The main reason that I bought the Nikon D50 over the comperable Canon was the price difference. The D50 was $500 less than the Canon.

I'll get us there sooner than you think! ;) those brownies with pistaccio were not bad, I think I will make it a good tradition while I am at home. they said I can't go one more month, I feel I am going mad already...
:) ok, I will wait with the camera.

edited: yes, d50 only has 200, and it's bad.
I also bought it becasue of the price and the excellent reviews, but I really wanted d200 and really regret buying d50 now...

Trust me Melethia, they are top 5 for me too, if they hold...lol. The Cell score really suprises me I entered the shot I did because I liked it and thats it, I really didn't expect over a 4.2 to 4.5 tops, so it's a shocker for me...

So Jack, we seem to need to put you on a team, or tribe, or whatever they're called. See page 1. Look for one that seems a person short and tell quiet_observation. Don't forget the initiation. You do have access to chickens of pure heart, right? ;)

Actually, I don't regret buying the D50 at all. I'm very happy with it. Someday I would like to get a D200 but that is way more than I can afford now. I think the body alone on the D200 is about $2000.

Now now - I *just* got a D50 - no putting it down yet ;)

Yeah, the 200 ISO being the lowest is kind of a pain, but not *that* bad I suppose.

ooops:) sorry Lea!

hello Jack!
03/27/2007 04:06:08 PM · #2410
The D200 is somewhere around $1200 for the body only. I just found a bunch of places that we hundreds cheaper, but I'm suspicious.

Here you go, Svetlana. Maybe not what you had in mind but it was fun to redo it!

I made it in b&w... don't ask me why:) the color version was nice, too, but suddenly I liked it in b&w!
I hope you don't mind that I edited it?? I hope not!

btw, it's the wonderous part that reminds me of Kelly, not the brown part!

LOL LOL!!!!!

Ok, I'm in Spin. How's this for Suckitude? In my comments I predicted a low score, but I still like it.

I've been in the free study for a couple of weeks, so I'm ready for that one to begin!

Meanwhile, my pop culture shot's doing okay at around 5.3.

Hey Don, remember your offer to tell me whether my image grain shot benefited from grain? I'd still like to hear your thoughts. :) And anyone else's, for that matter. It earned Melethia's prestigious "zero comments during a challenge" award, so I really have no clue!

Hi guys,
Took me about three days to lick my wounds, so to speak, and now am back and in good form again :-) Have an entry in still, and a RAW file to back it up!
Jeffrey, I bet you are bummed that this spinning contest came just a few weeks after you took that awesome photo of your daughter in the teacups! It would have been perfect for this challenge.
Welcome Jackal9! I am a big fan of your "Tree" entry. Loved the in-camera technique to create a seriously vintage appearance.
Edit to add: Visited JPEG mag and voted on both Svetlana and Kelli's images. Very strong entries, I may add!

No, No, NOOO!!!!!!

The FD lenses will NOT work with any of the Canon EOS stuff.

SOME of the EOS film stuff will work IIRC, but none of the AE-1/A-1/F-1 FD stuff will even fit on the camera, much less work with the auto-focus.

Nikon is the only one whose stuff will go way back, though why anyone would want to go back past the AF lenses is beyond me.

Personally, I'm only getting the latest and greatest stuff right now, and I'm saving my money for the 18-200 VR lens.

I hope to pretty much never take that one off the camera.

Yep. Ah, well. I also had a perfect perspective shot that I took one day before the last perspective challenge opened.

And hey! Ain't ya gonna vote for my JPG images? *pout* ;)

Hello, I was wondering if I could join in with the team suck group? Just look at my portfolio for proof that I belong (my "match" challenge pretty much clenches it).
03/27/2007 10:45:28 PM · #2424
can i join a team? i'm an Average Under Fiver, so i've got the suckiness down. my only flaw is that i don't have a blue straight jacket...
