LOL - with the way the trend has been moving since yesterday in Still, I'll be lucky to keep it over 6. It got hit with a couple of 1's and 2's right while I was looking. I am actually kind of excited about my FS study, though, which probably isn't a good thing. Last time I got really excited about FS it ended up at 5.2. |

Thanks.
The one with Bug in the red dress - the print has quite a red cast to her face.
I notice a significant brightness increase in the one with her in the striped shirt, as well as in the B&W.

Even if you calibrate your monitor (which you should if you can afford to buy a device), there is no guarantee that what is on your monitor will match what is printed when you use an outside lab. You could send a print to 10 different labs and get 10 different results. Even within a lab, printers have variability.
If I remember right, for skin tones with excessive redness, you need to reduce the red saturation and slightly increase the blue(?). I'm sure this has been discussed in Cindi's portrait thread or other DPC threads.
Adding link:
Digital Cameras, setting correct exposure and white balance

Oh, I realize that - no worries there.
I just found it funny, as my mom had commented on the redness in a few of my photos recently.

Thank you Levyj413 and everyone else who critiqued it. I love all that I am learning and honest critiques are going to teach me more.
Thank you guys for all of your comments and welcomes, I am so excited to be on Team Suck! You guys are all great! |
I have a thing about the word critique.
Here at Team Suck, you get honest views, opinions, and constructive guidance and assistance.
You could say it's semantics, but it just feels different to me than the hammering you get in comments where very rarely does the voter consider the feelings of the photographer.
I think it's great the way that TS almost seems to have some sort of magical influence in the attitude and score right from the outset.....welcome!
Congrats on your PB! |
Jeb, Thank you, I will try to watch that. I am a writer and a "critique" is a good thing when we are preparing a piece for publishing. I'm still trying to learn the lingo here (just forgive me please if I slip).
Another thing, what does TS mean?

A critique , an indepth review of a photograph, by someone that you respect and trust can be invaluable. It's also the term used out in the "real" world of photography.
TS I assume means Team Suck. |

Hey, don't change anything on my say-so, I'm the resident fruitcake, I just don't use the word because of my own issues.
I just love the way that the people here at (T)eam (S)uck are supportive and helpful, not critical. It's a wonderful, friendly atmosphere because of it.

My Spin is spinning out of control. But in the wrong direction! I hate when that happens. But I do have some very good comments, so I'm happy anyway. |

My Still has been on a steady decline as well. I'm down to a 4.4. |

I think it's just a general decline kinda week. I say we go with it... just let it all decline, relax, get comfy.... Not much we can do about it now anyway, right? |

Now......here's the funniest comment I've ever gotten contextually.
"Nice technically but no real wow factor."
Umm......am I looking for WOW factor in a STILL challenge????
It just goes to show you that you can NEVER please all the people, etc.

Was it a baghead who made the comment? If so, he/she may have hit me as well with a simple "nice" and the score.
BTW - I noticed that Langdon fave'd Blue Moon's shot. He must want to collect :-)
