I'm pretty surprised. I didn't think my shot would be doing this well.

I'm at the point where 5-votes look like troll votes. ;)

Still crossing my fingers and fading into the background...

I'm within whisper distance of a 5 so I'd be happy getting some of your troll-like 5 votes.

O.K. People!! My "thing" in my image is real!! I have had these comments like: tell me the secret, & I just gotta know, lotsa cools, but yet my score keeps tumbling down....I'm not worried about the votes recieved, I would prefer, if somebody is going to score me low, please don't give a fake comment to make it seem like you didn't score me low! I love comments GOOD OR BAD. I always give 1 higher than what I think........you're welcome! Too bad they didn't have an eleven!!!! right?
I am not pointing the finger at anybody, I've realized this since the day I joined. I think my vat of steam has now been released!!:)
SO HERE IT IS , ENJOY!

damn...i just got another 5, and that pushed me above 5. i'm really hoping for a personal low here, below 5 with no comments...i mean, if you're gonna hurt me, hurt me bad.

A 7 finally pushed me above 5.

Am I the only one that wonders how a 5 pushes you above a 5? ;)

Same thing happening here: comments about its "Coolness" and "Awesomeness" and yet those comments dragged in some nose-diving votes. Not sure why people do that. I would rather understand why a voter gives me a 4 or a 5, instead of being given a nice comment and a low vote under the table.

I'd like to raise the point that a comment given doesn't necessarily relate to a vote that was received at or near the time of the comment. My method is to vote first and then, sometimes days later, go through and make comments. If you see a flattering comment appear and your score just then drops a bit from a low vote, the two events didn't necessarily originate from the same person.

It's late for me and I'm a bit tired, so I hope my fatigue isn't making me sound too harsh here. I'm sure it happens that people leave high praise for images they then score low, but I don't see the coincidence of comment arrival and vote arrival being anything but a coincidence.

Does anyone else comment well after they've voted?

- Karen

Karen, I do it all the time. I'll comment both as I vote, and after I vote, so my comments may or may not correlate with a score.

a party of two, then :) :)
03/30/2007 02:33:02 AM · #95
Make that three :)

I usually can't wait to see the images in a new challenge, so I'll vote right away and then go back to comment and adjust scores (usually upward though).

ah, I don't feel quite so alone in the world, now... :)

I vote in a similar fashion. I do a first pass, then at least a second look later on, where I adjust scores (up to now always adjusted upward). The more I look at the entries, the more I'm able to come up with things to say, so commenting usually comes after the voting passes.

What a difference a day makes. Wednesday it was above 7.2 and has gone straight down since.

But overall I'm very surprised considering I didn't even like how it came out.

How are you able to tell what score someone has just given you???
03/30/2007 07:43:55 AM · #100
I always vote first then go back and leave comments at a later time.
