I gave a try at it as well, hope you don't mind.
Trying to remember my steps
- USM (15/50/0)
- new layer via copy
- cloned out person in background
- flatten
- selected child's eyes, new layer via copy
- dodge, erase back area around eyes
- flatten
- new layer via copy
- burn tool at 15% opacity, shadows, applied to all wood chips
- burn tool at 5% opacity, midtones, applied to wood chips and the curb and fence post
- flatten
- some brightness and contrast adjustments
- ensure all layers are flattened
- USM (500/0.2/3)
- save

Vikas, this is nice. I like portraits done in a little darker light. It adds a little intensity and character. And the sepia tones on this one give it an old-timey look, which I always love.
Who is she? She looks like someone that would be really nice to know :)

I am wondering if I can make it through without ever using the same model twice. |

I think everybody at the zoo in San Antonio thinks Sandy works there. She probably doesn't even have to pay anymore.
