Day 2 I started yesterday
Another self-portrait...it was raining earlier, so I kinda have wet-dog syndrom :)

Day 4 for me...I have a couple more to post. I have been away. I should be caught up by the end of the week. Pictured here is Townley who was kind enough to sit quietly while I figured out what I wanted to do. B&W and the border is my attempt to work through some of the tutorials I printed from DPC.

Day 5
Kelly at the counter of an old fashioned penny candy counter - getting the perfect selection.

an after thought...
I like the after thought better, at least I am working my way through CS2 :)

Day 10 - Cave guide

I can't remember this guy's name, which shows I'm getting braver because I'm taking portraits of more or less total strangers. It's quite an odd experience. I always ask first and people assume I'm taking one shot, but I have the camera set to JPEGs and rapid fire and I just hit the button and keep going. After about ten clicks they get puzzled, twenty they're mildly irritated, thirty they think it's quite funny. In between each emotion they seem to relax for a fraction of a second and then I might get a good shot. This guy is the cave guide at Cresswell Crags. He is between irritated and amused.

Incidentally Cresswell Crags has the only ice age rock art in Britain, and the most northerly rock art in Europe, and it's remarkably little known. Here's an example -

Day 11 - Flint Knapper

This guy is a professional flint knapper. He is between pissed off and very pissed off. After he has knapped the flints he takes them to a flint monger who mongs them. I can't think of any more jokes so make up your own.

Posted early because I have found some very expensive wireless access in Chesterfield and I may not be here tomorrow. (Chesterfield that is, it's not metaphysics).

Day 10

Couldn't decide between the two. They are discussing getting married this year, and I want to give them engagement photos when they go official... so I've been practicing when they come visit.

Day Ten - Rachel 2

This is another from my shoot with Rachel on Friday. With the GTG over the weekend I'm only just getting around to processing these. This one was accidently overexposed so I processed to make the most of it. :)

Day 6
Sean being very tolerant during a commercial when the Hockey game was on. Once again, I had to tinker in CS2 because of the focus problem I am having.
edit to give the day

Another great environmental portrait from you Vikas. Would you mind sharing your basic set-up and workflow? I am amazed by the clarity and quality of your images, apart from the wonderful vision you have.
