I second LaMas's incredible hair painting.

Great use of the Expert Editing rules. It meets the challenge in a way that many voters didn't recognize. It's totally out of the box, and required a lot of imagination and talent.

Global Warming by skewsme
This OOBIE is out of the kitchen and into the woods.

Still time this week for OOBIE and YAPPIE nominations. The Hoovers will be voting this week.

I have sort of an odd nomination for Yappie - I'd like to nominate the members of the Critique Club, who took the queue down to zero (0) with an all-out team effort. Lots of folks contributed to the effort, and it might be nice to recognize them as a group.

I'd like to nominate pineapple for a yappie. All of his comments are fantastic, such as this one...

Comment:
Like an advert for a clean, energy rich future - just like in the good old bad old days of oil drinking happiness. A clean ocean, clean air, a simple happy youthful life with no worries about CO2, global warming, Iraq, New Orleans, hurricanes, the Democrats, the Republicans..... Too good to be true. It's a nice bit of Americana in my opinion.

We haven't given pineapple a yappie yet?? He's long overdue. I love getting comments from him!

I third that.

This photo creates a feeling of bubbles, of being lost in a bubble, of looking through bubbles, without actually using bubbles. A prime example of OOBIE photography, and a spooky, beautiful picture.

I nominate this triptych by the_dentist for this week's OOBIE:

In this thread are nominations for two distinguished awards given out by the Suck League.

An OOBIE sucker is awarded to an "Out Of the Box" entry in a DPChallenge, something that meets the challenge in a creative fashion that DPC voters might not have properly appreciated.

A YAPPIE sucker is given to a commentor for either a particular comment or a history of great comments.

The next ballot will be distributed Sunday, May 13 for nominations between May 06 and May 12.

From Triptych, Melethia

More to follow soon.

Thanks, Jayson, but it's not really out of the box - it's a simple triptych - three shots of three different parts of a wall (and the three mirrors hanging there). Pretty straightforward, really. :-) I kinda wished I'd done it while the room was in use for breakfast, but figured I'd have received some very strange looks.

Considering it was done using mirrors, I think that is OOBie material. :)

I agree ... OOB does not have to poke a stick at the rules and work to bend them on purpose ... OOB only has to be a very original take on a challenge IMO, and I second the nomination.

Karmat, Ursula, and sfalice have done over 25 each, and ClubJuggle and MattO have been very good about keeping the "call to arms" moving. So maybe a group Yappie to those five in particular, with a nod to the rest of the folks.

Is Team Novice sending votes to quiet_observation or posthumous this week? I'm a little confused on duty management going forward.

Also, I only see 3 OOBie Nominations so far (I think they are mine). Any more that I missed.

Also I nominate colorcarnival for a YAPPIE also.
