Sending emails/ PMs to people that complain that we have missed the "obvious" really makes me and others that give comments less likely to spend the effort. That would be me, and i am sorry for venting my frustration at pccjrose. The reasons for doing so were outlined in my previous post, and hinted at in his. To spell it out here would breach the anonymity thing.

Doh - A comment with just "DNMC" - are you stupid???

The challenge is to show a photo that "Illustrates the Concept" It doesnt have to be a set of train tracks as far as the eye can see!

The previous commenter just wrote "make comments" - What the hell is that supposed to mean?

This frustrates me soooooo much, I think I might pull it and not bother any more. It has climbed to 5.5 today too.

there are a lot of images that are using the 'leading lines' technique rather than 'vanishing point' ... normally I vote on every image in a challenge ... but this time I quit voting after reaching the 20% mark ...

Please don't make the voters mad with comments like this. Also, a 5.5 is not worth a self-DQ.

my thoughts entirely - considering both the instances were after my posts and both posts contained opinionated language, "i think" features a lot btw, i really dont see it as anything other than just being annoying.

My predictions:

1) The winning pics will be technically and visually stunning, while unambiguously meeting the challenge.

2) Some well shot images with less clear connection to the challenge will do just fine.

3) This time next week someone will be complaining about how people don't understand their interpretation of "Shapes."

Did you stop to consider that the person who left this comment is going to come back when he/she has more time to leave a real comment? I recieved one too and figured it was left as more of a place holder. I wouldn't get too frustrated...

Sorry, should have followed it with a smiley I guess.

I find it amusing to see all of the "opinions" on what the photos in the challenge should/should not be that get posted in a "scores" thread.

As for saying it "after everything we write" - well that's a bit of a stretch. I only did it twice (I think). :P Far less than all of the "opinions" on meeting/DNMC, and only 3 letters.

True, it is a bit cryptic but I'd give benefit of the doubt until the challenge is over. I figured a commenter was telling me to go out and make some comments! ;)

Not keeping track of my scores, but got no comments either so I guess those that voted at least thought it met the challenge. It doesn't really matter. It was one of those shots that happen rarely, and I was very happy with it.
