Way less than I used to take. When I started in digital SLR's I used to shoot thousands. Time to edit and the amount of rejects was crazy. I now take way less, I'm more selective and I keep it off rapid fire unless I'm shooting moving wildlife / birds.
This year to date on the D200 about 3,400. On the D70 around 400.

3230 on the 5D since Sept of last when I purchased it.
I think I had about 5000 or so on the XT when I sold it. I had that for a year.

Way way way too many :(
Took about 30-35 thousand on each of the 10D and 20D I used to own and I have lost track of how many I have shot with the 5D, probably more than I shot with the other two cameras combined so I guess 150.000 with DSLR cameras the 4 years I have used them + a couple of thousand with p&s cameras. |

Coolpix 995, D70, and D200.... about 18,000 shots in a couple or 3 years. Ten times all the film shots I took in a lifetime.

| Well, I had over 10,000 on the A200, over 40,000 on the D50 between Erin and I, put an extra 15,000-20,000 on the used D70 I got, and I think we've already rolled over 9999 on the new D200 with all the GTGs and other photo outings we've been doing lately. |

In last two+ years made change to Digital, and have taken tons more than when I had Film...
Rough Count is over 10 000 with my Canon 20D |

I have probably dumped close to half the photos I have taken with a digital camera over the past 4 years. I currently have 35,648 images saved. At least 10,000 of those were shot since I joind DPC..
Will have a few more images saved when I get around to uploading some other cards.

when I had my little p&s that was about 10,000 photos
With my Rebel XT-350 have taken about 40,000
And with my Rebel XTi-400 I have take about 600

Well, I have my D50 for 1+ year now and I have in my drive about 1100 from 2006 and 1000 from this year, that's about 2100.
Shutter count says 9110 though, so, I kept 1 in 4 shots.
Duno, might need to exercise a little more.

| well the number on my computer says 6298, but thats not including all the ones i deleted and there are some duplicates of originals....so i have no clue how many photos ive taken :) |

I don't take photographs...I make pieces of art!
No really, I have no clue. I just have stacks and stacks of CDs I burn after filling a card. (They're CDs not DVDs). |

| The last photo title on my Canon Rebel XT was IMG7070.jpg. Does that mean I have taken 7070 images with it? Does the very first photo start at 1? If so then in the last 6 months or so I have taken 7000+ photos. With my old P&S i probably took about 3000. So not bad...In the last year to year and a half I have taken 10,000 photos. |

Yes that is correct IF you have not reset your your image files. I currently have uploaded IMG_7439 to my computer and have not reset my file numbers. I purchased my camera June 2005 so I have taken over 7439 images with that camera in a little over 2 years. It is also a way of seeing how many shutter your camera has had when comparing your cameras shutter to the manufactured shutter life expectancy.
ETA: If I had to add up all my digital and FILM photos I would have no way of knowing. I would estimate somewhere above 50,000.

Your right but you can still tell (at least with my XT). When you take a picture it is stored in a folder. Right now my folder is 174 and inside that folder are all images from IMG_7400 to IMG_7499. My card will put another folder on my card as soon as I take picture 7500, and that folder will be 175 and inside will be IMG_7500 and continue that way until I hit IMG_7600.
Once the camera reaches IMG_9999 it will be in folder 199 but one the image rollover to IMG_0001 again the folders will be 200.
Simply you take your file number such as IMG_5555 and add the 1st digit of the folder it was in (say 355 then your image number count would be 3555. |

28,000 (just under) in 2006 - April 2007
32,500 (just over) in 2005
24,300 (just under) in 2004
Total 91,800 ish in 3 and a half years with DSLR, no idea with the P&S
and whats even worse is I have every single shot stored on DVD and catalogued by keyword, date and location |

| I have taken 60,000 with my D200 in 18 months. I took 11,000 with a D70 in 6 weeks while on holiday. I take way too many images...I am now asking myself, do I really need to take this shot? |

I just checked to see. I got me dSLR this past Christmas.
9812 Shots in 7 months. Wow, I did not think it was that many. I need to slow down or I am going to have to get another camera for this Christmas. :) |
