I'd like to nominate pekesty for a Yappie for the comment he made on my current challenge entry. (I'll update this when the challenge is over.) Mark put such thought into the comment and went to a depth of symbolism rarely seen on the site, that I want him recognized. |

I nominate John Modricker ( jmritz), primarily based on a number of his comments in the thirty day "Ordinary Objects" side project. Here are some quick examples, two taken from final shots in that project and reflecting his warmth and connection with the images:
For this image:
Originally posted by jmritz: Lesley thank you. You put me in awe daily with your ability to capture the moment that counts.
Love that splash of red. This setup is perfect, it reminds me of toys always being left on the floor in high traffic areas waiting for the unsuspecting passerby to trip over. Love the sentiment and the shot. |
For this image:
Originally posted by jmritz: Jeb this is so artistic, and emotional. The sense that time has passed and past dwellers are long gone. I almost expect to see an old farmer in that window pressing up against the chimney, a ghost from the past. Wonderful. |
For this image:
Originally posted by jmritz: I've spent many a night under the stars the Moon my only companion. The night has a different smell the sounds are different in a way a different world than the day in light. This photograph with the expanse of stars overhead emphases the lonely human gazing up in wonder at the immensity of everything. You captured that feeling perfectly, with great skill. This is a photograph to be proud of. |
Best,
RobH
Edited 'cause I messed up a quotation.

It is with honor I nominate, taterbug, for the Yappie. Not only did he comment on most if not all of the puzzle macro shots, but his comments where Oobie material. Below are just a few.
“internal liner pads from the drum of a Nutech combination birdseed polisher/toenail scrubber?”
“looks like the face cover plate on a Bush 2000ZX spectral moron analyzer’
“a Japanese albino watermelon, that ironically enough are only found in Madagascar”
“decorative siding on an Amana watermelon toaster?”
I think you will agree this would make Douglas Adams proud, and certainly deserves recognition.

OOBIE nomination for escapetooz:
"captured me like a snapshot on his brain,
carried me back to the wild dark places
deep down inside the cool crevasses
where the heat splits the rocks
like rails under axes."

Glad to see colorcarnival nominated! An oobie for being the most complicit with the real idea behind the challenge! |

Thanks for the consideration of my photo. I had this opportunity just fall in my lap and there was no way this photo was NOT going to be in the challenge!

Yeah this was an amazing photo. It took me a long time to find waldo. This one was done so incredibly well.

Next best thing to a frisbee: for an OOBie!
I'd also like to nominate Art Roflmao for a HOAGie - (Heavy On Artistic Goofiness) - lifetime award for his challenge entries, forum quips and whimsical photoshopping escapades. Humorous Art must be rewarded and encouraged! |
