Well we could wait until fall, but there's quite a few of us around the area now, so why not a summer GTG?
I'll leave all details open at this point. It doesn't matter where we go--it would be nice to have a local GTG.
But one place I've been meaning to go is to the waterfalls on the east side of lake george. Or even closer to home, I'm sure there's some interesting places near Thatcher I haven't been.
Who's interested, When is a good day/time, and where! |

The falls in Rennslaerville (sp?), Lake Myosotis at the top. Aqueduct Falls also up there... |

I might be able to make it over from VT for this, depending on the details. I'll keep watching and let you know.

Here's a link to Shelving Rock Falls (the one near Lake George I was talking about).
Lets gather some information (links please) on the various alternatives here and then we can decide! |

Sounds like a good idea! Found a few links for information:

Do let me know when you are planning this event Neil... I wouldn't mind a leisurely drive in the countryside.

So was anything solid ever generated - date, time, meeting point?
Guess this is a bump to get everybody thinking again!

Argh, I've been so busy I left this slip.
Ideas?
I'm running out of weekends to go! Anyone local up for a little excursion this weekend? |

I can do Catskills. Maybe a little more north. Post some dates and places and let's vote.

It has some very nice older buildings, a shipbuilding center, old sail ships, a draw bridge, a sea museum and an aquarium.
Nice place to visit, and if it wasn't some 500 miles from where I live I would definitely attend a get together there... (still might)

Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, Abbot's lobster, and a submarine museum with the U.S.S. Nautilus... all within 5 miles of each other. |

Yes, it sounds good, but in my latest post, I was looking for a "little get together" with some of the locals for a reason. I can't make it that far this weekend (I didn't/don't have a full day), and I'm out of town next weekend, and then again for the following two (or three) weekends! I was just hoping to get a little photography in, but it doesn't look good for me.
Plus I'm going to be spending a lot of time in a car over the next few weekends. I'm being sketchy here simply not to post my travel agenda to a public forum. (I may delete what little is here later ;) But suffice it to say for now, I'm going to Buffalo, North Carolina, and Rhode Island, in that order, and separate trips.
It looks like September will be my next opportunity for a "local" GTG. That could include Mystic (if you guys haven't already done it by then), the Catskills, or anywhere 3 hours or less from here (though honestly, I'm not a good solo driver to do 6 hours in a day; I'm too perpetually sleepy, probably from being perpetually sleep deprived).

I'm in Troy and might be up for a Sunday GTG, or maybe even take a day off from work, lol.
Anyone interested in going to the races at Saratoga (w/ crowd shots in town after)? Or morning workouts (breakfast)? (I'm really not a morning person, but might make the effort to shoot morning workouts.)
Or what about the Ren Faire down in Tuxedo? It's not too far (day trip for me). //www.renfair.com/NY/
I wish I had known that this was the opening weekend (You can get a big discount).
Hopefully, I'll be heading down to Saugerties sometime in Aug (really need to find that date, lol) to shoot my barn's kids dressage team.
But I could also be up for a hiking/waterfall GTG. |

Are you kidding--I lived on Myrtle avenue for about 4 years while I was in Graduate school. What was your address?
By the way Donna, I was thinking of going to the track for the morning workout sometime. My problem now is that I don't have a lot of time between work and getting ready to go on vacation. I couldn't go on the weekend for sure, except maybe in late August (and I don't remember how long the track runs).
But I'll think about it, if you (and anyone else local) is interested, perhaps because it's early morning I'd be back for a full day of work anyway.

560 Myrtle Ave. A little Red house. We lived on the bottom floor from 95-99. It was a block, uh, west of the hospital. |

Definitely a small world. I lived at 775 Myrtle Ave. A small brick apt building with a courtyard, a couple blocks west of you.
So I presume you did your internship at Albany Med, or went to med school there? (Ok, we're off topic, but who cares ;) |
