well, 99.9% positive feedback. make sure you're checking what lenses they are offering, and whether they're the actual Canon stuff or some cheapo knockoffs.

They're not listed in Resellerratings. Their prices listed on eBay are pretty consistent with what the cams ought to cost, so rather than taking a chance with a no-name on eBay, why not just buy from a reputable dealer like B&H?

It's a tough call. J & K is a Brooklyn (NY) camera store. In general, they are all a bunch of scam artists //donwiss.com/pictures/BrooklynStores/.
However, they don't seem to be listed on the donwiss site. They also do have a good feedback on ebay, but look thru it carefully. I would also ask them in writing using the ebay system if the item is grey market, remanufactured etc.

I did a little digging on donwiss, they are lumped in there
"MrAccessory.com, d.b.a. J and K Cameras, Inc., InfinityCameras.com, InfinitiCameras.com, InfinitiPhoto.com, Best Price Cameras (BestPriceCameras.com), Enterprise Photo (EnterprisePhoto.com). Also Worldwide Wireless Wholesalers, d.b.a. oemwholesalers.com
1938 McDonald Ave.
Picture taken December 2005. According to PriceSCAN EastCoastDistributor.com was also at this address, and the whois record for it matches all the other whois records for all these domain names. Taken at an angle so the people inside wouldn't see me taking their picture. Click on web size picture to read sign at right. Also have registered jandkcameras.com. Two older pictures follow. Update: I was passing by in May 2006 and saw "For Rent 3,000 sq ft" signs on the front. A couple fellows trying to get in to clean up said they went out of business. But all of their web sites are still up, and all still show this address. After several months I found them at 1965 McDonald Ave. J and K Cameras, Inc.'s entity information lists a lawyer in Manhattan. EnterprisePhoto.com is the newest member of this family. Buy something, hit the checkout button, and you're at BestPriceCameras.com. The oemwholesalers.com name from whois registration, though the oemwholesalers.com website had them in NJ. The site is now defunct."

Damn, The prices did not seem crazy cheap. Cameras + lenses seemed to run ~$200 less than B&H (20%). But there was a lot of little extras.
#$(*#!!! Between picking a camera and a store I will never get this done.
Thanks for the input.

I tried to but something from Best Price Cmaeras and they gave me the "It doesn't come with a warranty unless you pay an extra $200" so I cancelled. 2 weeks later charges appeared on my credit card buying trips on Eurail, a Spanish airlie, GODaddy, Ebay and a bunch of other places.
I'm NEVER going to try and save money by buying from an unknown operation online again. |

I saw a great price on a lens from Best Price, but it became very evident, very quickly after looking at reviews that they are not just bad - they are exceptionally bad. It's nice to be able to do a little background checking. |

Yes, B&H is legitimate.
I've purchsed a good bit from them and have had no problems at all.

B&H is fantastic. Last week, for some unknown reason, the credit card portion of their website wasn't working for me at all. So I called the 800 number at the top of the page and the guy on the phone took the order, no problem. I ordered a flash from them, had it shipped overnight (just barely making their 3pm overnight delivery deadline), and I had it in my hands less than 24 hours later.
They may seem pricey, but ask your local pro camera shop how much it would cost to order whatever it is you're looking for. That flash was going to cost me $220 and a ten day wait for delivery through the pro shop. B&H's price was lower, and the cost of the overnight delivery put it at the same price as the pro shop's quote.

I've purchased from B&H and also from Sigma4less (they also sell Canon cameras) with no problems. I'd rather spend a few dollars more from a reputable store and avoid any potential headaches. Would buy from one of these or from here?
How much of a price difference would you be getting? Memory is pretty cheap at Newegg (yes, they are also reputable). Newegg is also offering a 60 GB Western Digital external HD and 1GB Crucial Compact Flash for $729.99 with the XTI.
P.S. If you do decide to go with your EBay store, use a credit card going through PayPal (store does not see the CC info), it'll give you extra security. There's no reason you shouldn't get your item within 7-10 days, if you don't, don't hesitate, file a claim immediately.
