Wow, what fun, and the camera is great. I'm very glad I stepped up out of the D40/STi range, I really appreciate the bigger body. It still is boggling to me they don't have a big body XTi.
I'm still getting the hang of the many many many settings, and can't wait to do some portrait work. A couple of my first shots down at the playground are below. Again, thanks to everyone for your advice and knowledge you place here at the forums.
All with the D80 and Nikon 18-135mm DX:
f5.6, 200ISO, 1/320th
f5.6, 200ISO, 1/400th
f5.6, 200ISO, 1/125th

Awww, those are cute pictures. That 2nd shot would fit well in the bokeh challenge. I just bought my D80 a month ago and I'm loving every moment I get to use it. Have fun with yours! |

Aha, they do have a big-body XTi - it's called a 40D. ;)
Congratulations on your new camera. Lovely shots, beautiful colours, and that's a nice kit-lens. Nikon certainly have some really nice entry level lenses in their kits.

My camera, flash, three lenses, a should bag, 4GB memory, and remotes cost less than the 40D + lens + memory + bag heh. Someday...
