Here are my oobie nominations from earliest memories:
by menele
A very good minimalist photo, nicely light and composed.
by Jacques123
Great Setup, way to go out of the way for a challenge.

I would like to nominate Karen ( krnodil) for a Yappie. Karen has the ability to point out the redeeming qualities in even the most DPC-challenged photo. Often, a thoughtful and encouraging comment from Karen is the only positive comment that DPC bottom-dwellers (myself included) ever receive on our entry.

Over the past month or so, I have noticed I am receiving many many thoughtful comments from Pineapple. I would like to nominate him for a yappie based on this gentle approach to telling me that my photo may need a little less processing. What genius!
You remind me that tranquility allows the viewer into the frame for a gentle amble. Gentle visual seduction that one can return to. I learn that the natural view - something which has good associations for me - is one that sometimes does not need much in the way of processing help to work. (I see a few bands of posterization in the sky which might have come about by levels adjustment or by noise reduction). |

At the end of last month, Pineapple was nominated for a Yappie by Deb ( melethia), erm, wait, he was nominated by Don ( posthumous) and seconded by Deb, erm, well, first nominated by, wait . . .
NOW I've got it: Pineapple was nominated for a Yappie by Deb, then Don upgraded that to Lifetime Yappie, then Deb tried to nominate him for a Lifetime Yappie, then Don wouldn't let her so she could only second his nomination for Lifetime Yappie, and then some idiot (me) started talking about the Pirate Code, and then I got bored and wandered off . . .
. . . but what happened with Pineapple's Lifetime Yappie nomination?
Rob, erm, Bruce

OOBIE nomination for skewsme
The Fragile Earth Coalition on Global Warming - Join Us
I can't believe this got a whole slew of "I don't know what this is" votes. Anyway . . .

From Eyes we have a shot with a remarkable likeness of an eye:
and we have two shots that dared to obscure the eye. But careful observation reveals them:
All three are excellent examples of what OOBIEs are about. This is not shoehorning. These are all photographers who put some thought into the challenge and how to fulfill it creatively. |

I nominate the original OOBIE meister, GeneralE for this shot in Reflections Without Mirrors:
The motion of the ball represents the way light behaves when it is reflected. Pure OOBIE genius! |

I think Melethia is LOOOOONG overdue for a Yappie ... Every place I look ... on my or others' photos, she is constantly supporting and commenting on other peoples' work. Since she has been back from having mortars land almost in her lap, it has even been MORE prominent (now that she has more time to type than duck).
I would be really disappointed if I don't see some support for this nomination ...
