Now that's a thought...

It's just an ordinary black brolly. The original thought was to keep rain off me, never considered a shoot-through!

Quick hello from the ladies already in London - Natalya dragged me and Sara ALL OVER London today - through numerous tube rides, boat rides, you name it! Neither of us will be able to walk tomorrow, so if it rains, do just sit us somewhere then come back and collect us later. Thanks!

And I believe there's a display of the Vanity Fair covers at the National whatever Gallery - that may be worth a visit rain or shine.

See you all bright and early tomorrow, and jedusi, I shall try to remember your sweets (I've been learning the Queen's English).

There are only two times you will see me run, when the Stella is being handed out and when there is a huge brick s**thouse chasing me! Man, then I could do the hundred meters faster than Maurice Green!!

It wasn't me! You ladies MADE ME go to all those places! ;o) I'd have been happy sitting in a pub all day ;o)

Sadly it is currently raining here in London so lots of positive thoughts and fingers crossed for better weather in the morning!!

See you all after breakfast ;o)

The only thing I can run these days is a bath.

Running? Just being out of bed before noon is going to be challenging enough ;)

I might break into a run if we are behind schedule tomorrow. Whatever happens, I have to be back at the Eye before 3.30pm, our flight is booked for that time :(

I guess the views of London might look Blurry and interesting if it is still raining at that time.

Simms, I have your mobile number...
If it's peeing it down we may leave home slightly later in which case we'll miss the 10 am meet and hope to catch up with you somewhere along the line.
I'm just going to work back and see if I can find that itinerary.

I'll bring some people from the UKC Photography and Modelling society. Ibi and Charlotte are photographers, and Kristel is one of our models, she's the covergirl for our Fashion Show Poster. The show went well tonight btw so I'm very happy.
We'll come by car, any suggestions on where we should park?
03/16/2008 04:22:53 AM · #469
If you want to be central, check out NCP website for locations. I've parked in one near New Oxford Street which wasn't AS extortionate as some of the others.

Alternatively, drive to an outlying station in zone 4 and tube in from there.

I also apologise for baling out due to the weather.....but my other excuse is slighlty better (?) in that my 28-105 mm lens seems to have failed. I thought I'd got it going again, but home in the warm and the dry, it's still not going. No autofocus, no adjustment of aperture, nothing. )-:
Thanks to Simms for organising and T for "production"

It was good to put some more faces to names and to see some familiar ones too.

But apologies too for bailing out so early... I should have stuck to my intentions not to come if it was raining as I know I'm not keen on walking around in the rain but I was so keen to attend that I ignored my instincts but then quickly realised it wasn't for me!

Talj, the name badges ROCK, thank you so much for doing them and I do hope you'll not think it too much of a waste given we only stayed for an hour!

Also, incase anyone is interested, I (and a few others at today's GTG) are also members of another, smaller photo community called Tips From The Top Floor. I organise GTGs there from time to time and there's one on in April. Should anyone want to come, please visit the forums and jump on in.

Thanks again and sorry too for not staying long enough to get to talk to some of you!

Greetings from York! I have only limited time (about 10 minutes left) on my laptop and don't have the proper plug thingie so I haven't got anything to post just yet. Just wanted to say THANKS and I had a blast despite the rather brisk weather. 'Twas delightful meeting you all, and a very special thanks to Natalya for an outstanding day on Saturday as well. My nametag is my souvenir. And maybe next time I'll get the proper brolly so I look like an American tourist. :-)

Sorry I lost you guys on the way to Buckingham Palace yesterday - I feel bad that I didn't say goodbye but when I looked around, I couldn't find you...

I guess I lost you because I literally went off on a wild goose chase into St James Park, changing lenses and getting some reasonable shots. By the time I had realised that it was later than I thought I went to the Palace - and no one was home, so to speak.

Good to meet everyone (in some cases again) and my apologies once more for not saying goodbye.

I'm sorry you lost us, Carl! As it turned out, the group kind of dispersed at that point anyway, with the smarter folks opting for warmer and dryer... 'Twas great to meet you!
