 pamelasue got in touch with me earlier in the week about one of my images on stumbleupon - web address is //tantrik.stumbleupon.com/. I sent an email to stumbleupon last tuesday and demanded it be removed - yeh right!!! ... as of about 5 minutes ago this bloke has still got it displayed on his site. I don't really bloody care if it's a fav of his or not...he still hasn't asked if he could use or display the image. |

What I don't understand is why Flicker is not at least checking the Copyrighted_Image_Reuse_Prohibited photos that are right there in front of their faces.
All of those ones that where posted months ago are still up. |

What's even more annoying than the theft is the contortions you have to go through to get them pulled. I sent a notice to Flickr a few days ago that included this line, "I hereby state under penalty of perjury that the photo belongs to me and was used without permission." Yahoo sent a note back this morning saying they couldn't address the complaint unless my request included the exact phrase, "good faith belief that the use of the content in question is unauthorized."
The one linked below is even crazier because it's hosted by Google, which doesn't accept infringement notices by email. You have to send the request by fax or regular mail. GOOGLE?!?! :-/ |

Flickr is just a place to host photos, like Pbase, SmugMug and Photobucket. Unfortunately, people don't always upload their own images... |

Thanks to  eyewave for noticing one of my pictures on flikr - and a further 'thanks' to those of you who also added comments on the photo and it's origins :- )
After searching flikr's own forums I came across a thread concerning a flikr user who had their image stolen by another flikr user - and was struggling to get anything done about it link. To be honest it's a pretty depressing tale - but if you go to the bottom of the thread there is a helpful post by Dr Keats who says the following
"Yeah - use this form, placing your info in where required, and send it to: copyright@yahoo-inc.com:

Notice of Infringement
My work: [link(s) -- if available, if not available, describe the infringing material]
Infringing material: [link(s) on Flickr]

I've noticed some DPC pictures on other sites as well where they pull 'random' photos and give them funny names etc.

Yikes, I just did a search on flickr using Copyrighted_Image_Reuse_Prohibited_ as the search criterion. The search found 88 images. OK, some are possibly legit, but it was quite a surprise there are so many.

Many of those are Leroy's, posted to his own Flikr account, but I see one of mine in four different places. :-( |

Yes, I saw that but having seen one thread locked today already for discussing his whereabouts, I thought I wouldn't specifically mention him. But there are a ton of others that are not Leroy's. |

seems i seen the underwater tiger pic being used on myspace as a profile pic with a silly title beneath it,just thought id say im not even sure whos shot it was,ill go look...ok its one of this guys outtakes,- jblaylockrayner

I see  DrJones photos and DrAchoo's daughter. I think everyone just needs to go look through that search. Flickr is good about taking down photos that are stolen work. They will also suspend a user if they commit multiple infractions so if everyone that has a stolen image reports it for every person that stole one, it will help prevent it in the future. |

There are several shots by Aimee and Tim on there too, including at least one of Aiden. Also a few of Cindi's on there too.
