I have a photo I really love but the way I framed the shot was not quite right. I cannot seem to come up with a crop that I like either. I was wondering if anyone had any cropping suggestions.
Here is the photo

The only crop I could find that I liked is a vertical (portriat) orientation using the rope as a leading line to the tie off point on the boat. I've emailed a version to you, as I can't post to my flickr account from work.

Yes, yes, yes. I like that version as well. There is definitely something to be learned about putting a shot together and getting it right. I will post that one shortly so it is available for others to see your crop.
Thanks. |

Rather than blindly hacking away at your photo, what in the image has captured your interest, the deatils of the boats, the tire bumpers. Figure that out and then work on what focuses your attention to that area. Maybe the leading line is the right approach, but it depends on where you think the focus of attention should be.

Looking at the full size image this is the area that interest me the most.
Here is my take on the crop and a small amount of perspective adjustment.

When I shot it, the thing that caught my eye and I thought "that would be a neat photo" was the rope and the tires. I shot a couple of frames but this seems like the one that can be made into something good.
The top part of the boat seems to be needed to give it context but that may just be my faulty thinking.

What do you mean by perspective adjustment?
