Maybe he was taking a picture of your home and wanted to show his wife?
Think about it. If you were a pedophile looking for new victims, would you stop your car in front of the house you saw kids playing at, get out and take a couple shots knowing how people react to this type of activity? He's either very stupid or totally innocent.
aks, police can't take action just because he took a picture. One complaint doesn't make you guilty. ;] Or a thousand.

Never hurts to call the cops on suspicious activity and you def did the right thing.
Generally, a person can take any picture they want if they're standing on public space (I'm assuming the street is), even if the photo is of private space, so long as they are not using a zoom lens to 'intrude' in. I think this is how paparazzi earn their living.
I don't think he did anything illegal but I would not be cool with someone sneaking pics of my kids like that. |

I haven't heard anything more about the incident from the police, although the person taking the report seemed to think I should have reported it even sooner than I did.
@AP: AFAIK, if you are on public property, you can use any kind of lens you want...zoom or otherwise.

Of course, but how foolish or bad would someone feel for not reporting someone who does go on to commit a crime, because it seemed obvious he would have been sneakier in his planning? |

I made the mistake of buying a townhouse right next to a playground. There was one time, about 2 years ago, that I was out on my back porch, grilling a steak and drinking a beer. Some kids were playing and was just enjoying the nice weather watching them play. Then I noticed the parents. They were giving me the evil eye. I just smiled and waved. What I'm getting at is a single guy can't even watch kids play without the parents being paranoid.
I also do a lot of geocaching and have found myself in parks looking for some evil micros. A few times I've had to leave because of the looks I was getting from parents. Granted, standing there looking at a tree and bushes can look a bit funny to some folks.
With the paranoia today, a single man is automatically a pervert. |

It was probably something to do with the fact you was naked at the time?

I knew I should have put the robe on.
I should add that they know me now and know that I'm harmless. They still don't talk to me, but at least tolerate me. |
