BBQ at Brent's

Now there's a dangerous thought...last time I BBQed something, it came out looking like it had been caught in a shuttle launch.

I can top that. Last time I was in charge of the grill at a GTG, I sent a fellow DPC'er to the hospital via an ambulance. I'm serious.

Hmm.....

Let's see......locks self out of car....

Sends fellow reveler to hospital....

Would it be more of an incentive if we asked Alan NOT to come?

You gotta give it to him for not being boring!

At least you can depend on the fact that I'll do something stupid. The hospital incident was a couple years ago at our Western PA McConnell's Mills GTG. For the most part, everyone lived through it, but JaredWickerham was apparently hungry enough to start wolfing down an undercooked burger, and he wound up being transported to the hospital via ambulance that night, and spent a lot of the next few days making unusual moaning noises, from what I learned.

It was my grill, and my hamburger involved in the incident, but to my credit, another DPCer (who will go unnamed) was manning the grill at that time, so at least I am partially off the hook, I think :)

I just went to put this on my calendar and saw that 6/21 is Fathers Day.

Not a prob for me, but it might be for others. Change to 6/20 and keep 6/21 as a rain day?

Done some Hotel searches for the area and thought I would share what I found in case others would be looking as well.

Williamsport(38 miles from Ricketts Glenn)
Best Western: 105/night
Fairfield Inn 115/night
Candlewood Suites 82/night

Bloomsburg (24 miles from Ricketts Glenn)
Hampton Inn 150/night
Econolodge 120/night
Holiday Inn Express 125/night

Sweet Valley(15miles from Ricketts Glenn)
Siena Hotel, Spa and Casino avgs out to be 130/night

If anyone more local knows some other places closer to Ricketts that could post some info on this and also I know its still pretty far away but if we could confirm the weekend at least it would be helpful for the out of staters trying to plan to attend.

Ack! I didn't realize that. What do others think about this...? Issue, or non-issue? Even though I'm a father, I don't think it would be a big issue for me.

I have to shoot a wedding on the 20th, but if this stays on the Sunday (the 21st) I am there. I don't know if I will be able to drag anyone there or not, but there's a chance.

Scalvert...I will send you a check for a gross of those donuts.

There's Central Hotel, it's a bar/restaurant/with rooms. I've ate there (good food!), but never have stayed there. It's about 10 minutes if that from Rickett's.
Here's a link w/ a map & #:
//www.pa-motels-review.com/?n=central+park+hotel&id=501877&t=hotel
(You may have to move the map around a little, if you move it til you see routes 487 & 118 you will also see Central & Jamison City, that's where the hotel is)

I have listed a few area hotels in my last post, as I will be arriving probably on Friday to the area. Take a look below at my post, there are places listed depending on how long/far you are willing to drive the day of.

The Date has yet to be etched by our great and feerless leader Alanfreed however, i plan to also hit Hershey Park while I am in the area on the other day that I am not meeting up with everyone. So I plan on being in the state the entire weekend.

Well, Hersheypark isn't exactly "In the Area" but it's still in Pa.

I'm about 25-30 minutes from there, and it takes me all of three hours to get to Rickett's....and NO moss grows on me when I roll!
