Flora III
Many great specimens.
Beautiful cuts w/studio lighting & black backgrounds dominated voter preference.
I preferred most of the natural environ garden variety rhizomes, bulbs, shrubs & also houseplant views.
A few wildflower examples were evident from warmer climates.

Thank you so much Karen. I am learning a lot about how to improve my photography from this site, as well as from a certain local bear!

Not from a Challenge:
However, you must see this astounding series by messerschmitt.
Wiel is one of the great 'undiscovered' gems of DPC, known and appreciated by a relatively few followers, but sadly overlooked by the many. I'm quite sure that the lack of recognition doesn't bother him at all; he is not one of those, as is evidenced by his unwavering commitment to his sometimes lonely photographic quest.
Instead he is as close as we have here to a genuine visionary. This series of unique portraits is the culmination of several years of exploration of the themes of, among other things: objet trouvé, hidden faces, textures, the influence of masters paintings, self-portraits with intellectual depth, and the secret beauty & menace of nature.
I think it's a brilliant, coherent series and I hope that my posting these photographs here will attract the kind of attention and acclaim that is likely to thoroughly embarrass him:
Bravo Wiel!

Yes, Wiel's an outstanding talent. Long been a favorite of mine. In fact, that reminded me to check if he was on my favorite's list, which, inexplicably, he was not, a situation I have now remedied, partly through excessive use of commas :-)

Thanks for the bit of recognition.
's not a beautiful card, but it did raise a few smiles.
Wonder if I can sell it to the Metropolitan Possum Trot Tourism Board?

Thanks. Was kind of hoping it would score a bit better. Not a 6 obviously, but maybe a 5.5 but I think a few people took it too seriously and scored me low because of it. Need a little humour, especially near April Fools.
