I was wondering, which versions of photoshop are compatable with Windows Vista 64 bit? |

I am using PSE7, and I really like the program...it seems to work fine with the Vista system, but do not get a LaCie external hard drive...now there is something that did not play nice with my computer...anyhow...PSE7 gives me what I need for the time being...I am using a tutorial site to help me out with direct applications and it is awesome...really worth the $$ for that...if you are just purchasing the computer now...why not wait for the next system to come out...it isn't far off as I understand it...or do you already have the Vista system... |

All of them should work fine, Vista 64 also runs 32 bit apps. However, PS CS4 also has a 64 bit executable available. |

Here are the requirements from the CS4 box
System Requirements
Windows
â€Â¢ 1.8GHz or faster processor
â€Â¢ Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 (Service Pack 3 recommended) or Windows Vista® Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise with Service Pack 1 (certified for 32-bit Windows XP and 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Vista)
â€Â¢ 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended)
â€Â¢ 1GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on flash-based storage devices)
â€Â¢ 1,024x768 display (1,280x800 recommended) with 16-bit video card
â€Â¢ Some GPU-accelerated features require graphics support for Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0
â€Â¢ DVD-ROM drive
â€Â¢ QuickTime 7.2 software required for multimedia features
â€Â¢ Broadband Internet connection required for online services
I have the 32 bit CS4 for Vista, if I would have known at the time, would have went with 64 bit. I have 4 GB of RAM but only 3.5 GB is recognized under 32 bit. All 4 GB would be recognized in 64 bit.

Not all plugins will run with CS4-64bit. I don't know how/what happens if you install CS4-32 bit on a 64 bit vista -mine installed as 64 bit and I don't recall if it asked or not - i wanted it 64 bit so it wasn't important.
A friend that uses a lot of the plugins has to keep an old 32 bit version (on his old computer) for the plugins to run on.

CS 4 works great with Vista. Or in other words, I've had no problems, (knock on wood.)

Photoshop CS3 works fine with Vista 64. Naturally it is 32 bit mode only. But no functional problems.

Im surprised it didn't install both, unless its a premium suite thing. I installed the web premium suite on vista 64 and it installed PS CS4 32&64bit and it did the same with the Creative Premium suite on XP Pro 64bit... |
