It looks like a red banded yellow headed blackbird to me!LOL, Sorry know idea John. |

I took the photo in the aviary at the zoo yesterday. This bird wasn't listed on the ID chart.

Just found this today, it's not a site that will help identify birds, but it's a great resource for keeping an online checklist of birds you have observed, as well as other people in the country/state/city with potential bird hot spots.

I first took a look at this bird and though that it's form looked somewhat familiar. I dug out my wife's copy of the Birds of Costa Rica and flipped through the color plates.
I found that the bird looked very similar in shape to manakins we had seen during our prolonged stay in Central America.
I think Ithis web page. If you take a look at the third picture on the page, the accompanying text says that it's theGolden-headed Manakin from Peru.
A few more pics
