Actually, CBS. The commercials may or may not bring in revenue for the sponsers, but its a gauranteed cashflow for the network.
Oh, and Houston probably won't do too bad either. It was a huge revenue generater for us here in San Diego last year. In spite of Paul Tagliascrooge's disparaging comments... |

The spread is 7 I believe. New england will win but I will take carolina against the spread. |

Last I heard the spread was up to 7-1/2, with the over/under at 37.
CBS also will not air an ad from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor's Bureau, even though it does not mention the G-word. |

Why not boycott CBS altogether? It's just television. |

Partly because I somewhat perversely enjoy the sport, although less and less lately, and partly because I won't be able to argue about the commercials (seen and unseen) if I don't see them. But I may or may not see it at all depending on what my son and I decide to do with the day ... |

I don't really have a preference who wins as long as the final score ends in 7 for N.E. and 0 for Carolina :/
That would put a couple of new lenses in my bag |

Nothing is ever quite what it appears to be... (Patriots are being over-hyped). Whenever something looks to good to be true, it usually is!

Pepsi. Though the game hasn't been the same since the dot.bomb.
Shame that sport nonsense goes on so long around the real contest though.

They've won 14 in a row (hasn't happened since Miami's perfect season)...8 of those came against teams who won 10 or more games...Carolina, I think, has beaten 4 teams with a winning record all season (or something like that)...throw in the best coach in the league....and I don't know if I agree they are over-hyped...with that said, I'm rooting for Carolina. So I like your prediction. |

Anybody else have plans for the game? |
Just our family.. no big party..
but we're attempting "Houston Style" with Ribs and what not.
We're really not into football, but it's New England, and with the sore loss from the Red Sox, we could use a win here :)

Wow! The forum police are out in full force today....tried to start a light-hearted general discussion about how folks here will enjoy the game but it was locked and thrown into this thread about Super Bowl predictions....and the site was saved by this judicious use of power.
I know there was no evil intent, Karen, but I must now root even harder for Carolina in view of your totally unnecessary action. :-) Doubt it will have any affect, but GO CAROLINA! (Not that I'd actually bet on them). :-) |

sigh it was not meant to be mean, it was not unnecessary.. just trying to keep the forums unrelated to photography to a minimum. If I really was accurate, I would have transferred this thread to Rant from the beginning.. And should have.
Please continue with your pleasant discussion.

I saw most of the Pats game against Indianapolis panthers (?) in the semi-finals at the airport on the way back from Boston, so I'm saying GO PATS! (This is with no knowledge of American football, btw.)

My head says the Pats, but I'd like to see Carolina win it. I'm just hoping I can watch it from home as my wife is due any day and I've predicted long ago that today would be the day. Actually the TV's in the hospital delivery room are pretty big. I'd rather be watching from home though.

inspzil-
I think it's babycenter.com that has a calculator that will relate a conception time to major sporting events....designed to avoid just such a situation! Should it happen today, good luck and enjoy your new addition. |
