I am new to photography and to this website, when I try to upload a picture for a challenge it doesn't work because it says its to big. How do I fix this?

Here's a tutorial you might be able to use: Size for DPC

Please note, though, that the longest side can now be 800 pixels and the file size as large as 300K.

What processing software are you using?
