Is there a way you can make photo shop resize a whole folder of pics automatically? I have about 400 shots i need resized (smaller) and doing each one individually would take hours. Is there somekind of automation thing i can set to make it do this?

Not entirely sure, but if you create an action to do what you want and then look at the various options available in the File > Automate > Batch... dialog, you may be able to achieve your goal without too much effort. |

I don`t know if this works but if you record an action of the resizing then go to file>automate>batch you can choose the action to do the whole folder.

Yes there is!
You can build yourself an action that will resize to a specific height or width or by percent. Just what EddyG said. Do you know how to use actions or record them?

What version of PS are you using? I believe CS has a batch processing feature built in. I haven't used it yet, but I think I read something about it.
Edit: can't spell
Edit again: If only I would read the entire thread instead of scanning through.

It's really quite easily done only take a few minutes. You can turn any command into either a clickable button or an F-key shortcut, all you have to do is choose the a command. Here's how it works :
1. Open the Actions pallette and click create new action button at the bottom of the palette.
2. Name the Action and assign a color or a funtion key(best option), then click Record. (little round button will light up meaning it's recording)
3. Select your action from the drop menus or what ever that you want to do in that single action for all your photos.
4. Lastly click the square stop button when you think you've finished recording for that action.
I think what EddyG mentioned could help you out with processing all the photos at one go, I haven't tried it yet, but I think it's possible.
File > Automate > Batch...
