Not really a tip or trick but here's my very amateur'ish set-up for the 'ORANGE' challenge. I always liked the commercials I saw for Yellowpages (Canada) with a mix of B&W and yellow so I thought I'd give it a go...
Th diffuser is a pillow cover. The 'frame' I used is my drill press tool stand. And I used my fiancees black dress (yes, she is just about to call for men in white coates to come and get me) ;)

That's very inventive. Are those regular halogen work lights? How do the photos turn out?

Yes - regular 500w x 2 halogen lights from Canadian Tire (similar to home depot). I also use a couple of smaller lights on the side of the 'light box' but these are just regular desk lights with spots.
I shot this of our wedding rings... Not perfect but I'm still experimenting. You can still see a reflection of me in one of the rings but I think it will get better when it get dark in the room - tonight - so the only light will be the light on top and the sides (and maybe back) of the diffuser.
And yes - the larger stone is not a green diamant but an emerald (in case you thought my colors were off).

Better to use a sampled color for the top ring. I can see the black brush marks drawn around the ring. |

Did you win any challenges for that? If so which one? |
