I vote real. I did that kind of stuff at that age. That high? No. High enough to die? Yes. Had a cell phone camera to record it? No chance in...

Speaking as someone who's s**t scared of heights, that freaked me out just watching it!

He should have placed some lego guys on that beam and snapped a photo.

just by looking at the video my legs feel like jelly. Don't want to imagine one of them loosing balance and discover what gravity is.

There's not a gun big enough to get me to do that!

as someone who has inspected bridges, i have worked with people who were crazy enough to do that.

not me, i'd be tied off with two lanyards if possible.

I couldn't even watch it all. As soon as the kid stood up I had to shut it off. Had my stomach in knots

People are funny about heights. falling any distance over twenty feet will most likely kill you, but a hundred foot drop, or a thousand foot drop makes people weak at the knees. Often these same people will take stupid risks cleaning out the gutters on a ten foot ladder. Its not the distance you fall that kills you, it's the impact of those last few inches.

Difference between 20 feet and 200 is the time you have to think about whats going to happen though.

But one of those falls lasts much, much longer...

I won't even go up a ten foot ladder. Makes me too shaky

Ok I am surprised...not at the idiocy of the people but at myself. One of my greatest fears was heights to the point I couldnt even climb to the second rung of a ladder. But during my time with photography I had to climb some giddying heights including a 35 meter tower by ladder only and in pitch darkness with my gear on my back. I had to squeeze between pipes before reaching the top and pushing the latch door open to get out on the top. My guide and I had no safety lanyards or helmets to rely on. Another time I had to run across a school building roof. I would still get giddy with extreme heights but I would do it. Since the accident I have noticed many changes to my system including no longer ticklish and desensitised in a lot of areas. I have not had to climb heights since then and it wasn't until I watched that video I realised that the video's sense of height did not phase me. No butterflies in the tummy, no shakies...nothing. Now I would be interested to know how I face it in reality...so thankyou for opening this realisation to me.

The brain is not only more complex than we think, it is more complex than we can think.

That is one gust of wind away from a tragedy.

Mind you...judging by the age of the participants I am not the least bit surprised. I too remember doing things that I would not even begin to contemplate today.

If you though the OP video was risky, try this. Nice to know that teens and stupid risks are a world wide phenomena.

OK... I'm into rock climbing, and most of guys(and girls) who do it get an adrenalin rush from stuff like that...fear of heights is real, and everyone has it but some learn how to deal with it and some push it to the limit.
Kind of famous in pushing it to the limit (and over the limit at the end) is Don Osman.
