While searching for a Silhouette picture this weekend, I saw an owl sitting on a fencepost. This just might do for Serendipity, I thought; an owl out in the day time. I crept up on it taking pictures .... got closer and closer. Guess what - it was a plastic owl!!

For some reason I can't get the thumbnail of the picture to show up.

How did you fix it Justine? |

You only need to put the image id number in the thumbnail tags, not the whole url, eg:
[ thumb ] 12345 [ /thumb ]
:)

You actually just have to put the number of the photograph, so 71075 for it to come up. |

Some of you guys may remember it from the sticker challenge, but my favorite past serendipitous shot (actually ended up titling it "Serendipity") is this one:
Hopefully something similar will happen this week... |

That is so funny! Thanks for the laugh. It's nice to know I'm not the only one that does things like that.

I do that every time I'm at the barn cleaning stalls. There is a plastic Owl by the manure spreader where we dump the wheel barrows and almost EVERY single time I think, "WOW! Look at that cool owl!"

I was fooled once before,
taken at Lake Tahoe. I was so excited to see this gem early in the morning so I snapped this shot, then I moved closer to get a better shot, then I realized it was a plastic owl :(

Your serendipititous picture of the statue and bird is really nice Malokata. I've been hoping to see something like that all week for the challenge but haven't had any luck.
Zoomdak - your pictures on the CannonBeachChurch.Org website are very beautiful. It was a pleasure to look at all of them!
jab119 & Neuferland - it makes me feel a lot better that I'm not the only one who has been fooled by a plastic owl. |

Last week I was in the back yard and thought I saw two hawks up on top of a tree - I got out the camera and shot about 60 pics of them (zoom) though I couldn't see well because of the angle of the sun.
I got them onto the computer and it turns out that I have lots of photos of ... doves ... I don't know how I made that mistake! |
