For the serendipity challenge, I submitted a picture of my daughter playing in a pile of leaves. Children being what they are, I did not manage to get that perfect picture before she decided to find joy in something else, but I thought it was worth submiting anyway.
This is the submission entry:
I shot this directly against the sun intentionally to create the highlight of her hair, but this resulted in a reflex in the top part of the image which was cropped away.
The original, uncropped, version looks like this:
I am however unable to decide which version I like better.
I would love to hear your thoughts on which version you prefer, and why. Or would you have done something completely different, given the original image?

i prefer the one with the tops of the trees because it includes the sunshine's prismatic halo-it's a nice effect that displays a warm and playful feeling |

The one on top looks more focused in to me. I would say I prefer the first one. |

hmm. a tough one. I really like the beams of light, although the image could be cropped to exclude some of the left part of the photo in the original.
After deliberation, I think the one you submitted is best. Why? I like the halo around her, with the child still being the focus of the photo. The light beams are great, but in the end detract from her.
Tough decision though.
