Camera Phone Free Study III
A Member Challenge using the Advanced Editing rules
Description: Show us what you can do with a camera phone.
Extra Rules: Your entry must be captured with a device that is also capable of making and receiving phone calls.
Smart phone owners are justifiably proud of their photography. Capturing images with one's mobile phone is a ubiquitous phenomenon. Let's see whose phone produces the best images. Let the shoot out begin!

Ah, let's wait until we can all get our new iPhone 6s :) It's not available until 26th September in this part of the world, but then, bring it on!

I love basic editing, but not with a phone camera...
To me basic is about getting the settings "right" in camera. With a phone you have no choices... doing this in basic would be to see who has the best camera in a phone or who knows what their phone can do best. You said that, I know, I just think part of the deal with phone cameras is processing.
Maybe this should be take the picture with a cell phone AND process it "ON PHONE", though I don't know how that could be monitored. |

Would minimal editing include any "setting" your camera phone can add during the exposure, apart from multiple frames? |

OOPS, sorry ... I was thinking you meant "minimal". I totally forgot about Basic Editing since it almost never comes up:)
But I still think a phone challenge these days should be advanced edit. |

I would definitely shoot for this.
I might prefer Advanced editing, and I might prefer waiting a couple weeks when my iPhone 6 Plus currently on order arrives (my current phone is a couple of phone camera generations older than Richard's new iPhone 6). But, I'd enter regardless. |

They do have apps which I use snap seed to edit my cell phone pictures..
Not sure if this would be under advanced or minimal editing? I also have an HDR App as well, which takes pictures and also processes them at the same time... so not sure of what HDR bracketed shots falls under?
I am hating my I-phone and can't wait get rid of it.. looking very forward on going back to my android :-))

| hold off until October 17th when I dump my iPhone for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It has a 16mp camera and takes better low light images than my iPhone 5s |

I don't mind the delay. It would be a good shoot out whenever it is offered. (Not all pixels are created equally. Pixel count alone does not equate to superior photos.) The whole purpose of the challenge would be to see which photos rank highest. Technology is changing rapidly. Maybe the phone rankings will turn out differently this time! |

The reason I listed Basic for editing rules is because Camera Phone Free Study II required Basic editing rules. I do appreciate the pros and cons of Basic. I would be receptive to Minimal, Basic or Advanced. |

No, but we almost always follow the opinion of the person who originally suggests the topic.
One suggestion for all of these topic suggestion threads is for the OP to go back to the first post and amend it into a "final version", taking (or not) the discussion into account. I don't think Langdon reads through the whole thread and synthesizes it into a coherent challenge topic -- that's "our" job ... |
