I am starting to see cracks in my monument. It's been sliding all morning, and the last vote of 4 took it below 6.

I will not take it unto myself to decide if something is a monument or not. I will either look it up or vote assuming the photographer knows for sure that it qualifies as such.
I'm hoping others do the same. |

I'm being as open as possible.
1. a statue, building, or other structure erected to commemorate a famous or notable person or event.
synonyms: memorial, statue, pillar, column, obelisk, cross;
2. a statue or other structure placed by or over a grave in memory of the dead.
synonyms: gravestone, headstone, tombstone, grave marker, plaque

3. a building, structure, or site that is of historical importance or interest.

The monument I chose is admittedly on the fringes of what is a monument. Then my photo didn't end up doing it justice.
All in all a challenge fail. (I had artsy shots that I loved but met the challenge even less than the sort of okay shot I entered - but I had aimed for emotion in the image. Other shots were better for emotion but more likely to DNMC. Score, probably the same either way. I should have entered what I liked better.)
Technicals - I thought were okay but I guess composition is a bit part of that and I failed there. (Tried lots of angles & lenses, couldn't figure out how to get what I wanted.)

| Score's currently higher than the image deserves - not high, just higher than it should be :) And I just got a dead-on comment telling me what one voter didn't like. I agree so much I wish the challenge was ending instead of just beginning LOL |
