I can't really complain too much because after 19 years of trying I finally got my first and second ribbons in quick succession.

The late voters really hit this one hard. It had been over 6 until the last few hours of voting and was at 6.2308 this time yesterday.

Happens to all of us most of the time. Get's one's expectations up just to crash in the final hours. Just a voting pattern I guess. Would it affect you any differently if say the score had been around 5.7000 and then the late voters pushed it to end at 5.9722? Probably then you would have felt the opposite of what you feel now yet with the same end score. All a matter of perceptions. |

Probably then you would have felt the opposite of what you feel now yet with the same end score. All a matter of perceptions. |
I know it doesn't make sense, but I do tend to feel better when a score goes up all week than when it starts strongly and falls steadily. Sadly the former doesn't happen very often. My backlighting entry was a rare exception, but it still scored less than this one.

Yes I know how you feel. Like I said it happens to most of us all the time. Just a voting anomaly. Once you realise that you will feel better when it happens again. |

I was actually quite happy with my score. I imagine some people voted low because there were no humans in the photo.

wish is totally ridiculous .. animals make friends all the time .. also with others of a different species ..
would be wonderful to actually know what ppl thought when they were voting .. and getting that feedback .. a vote with no comment . whether its a high, medium or low vote tells us nothing ..
dont get me wrong i love dpc .. but i reckon it would thrive if ppl made more comments ..
obviously just my opinion .. :) |

At least on the second page of results there was consistently a surprisingly-large (to me) difference between the participant/non-participant votes:
Average Vote (Participants): 5.222
Average Vote (Non-Participants): 6.304 |
