Not a bad shot but her white dress looks very dirty with it being burned in so much. Your other one is better.

You definately 123% chose the right one to enter the challenge. It is my SINGLE MOST favorite picture on this website. although this one is also very good I don't think it has anything on the submitted item.
I was looking at your other works too and I think you are a very talented lady... please keep on being COOL.

Obviously, the original is much better. In fact, it along with the #2 photo, are two of the best I've ever seen on the site. Really makes me feel frustrated about my current photo rut.
I'd love to see an unprocessed version of "Angel". Would be interesting to see a before/after. |

yowza. that's some incredible ps work. i thought labuda was the ps master around here. he's got competition.
In fact, I'm so blown away by the darkroom work done on this photo that I'd LOVE a "How'd they do that?" column about it. Or, you could just email me the PS file with all the adjustment layers! ;)

This is realy enlighning how photoshop can make all the diffrence.
Well maybe not all the diffrence the idea of the shoot, pose and framing is very good.
And yes your pick was the right one.

You chose the right one. The "burning" is a little more apparent on the one you didn't submit. |

1st place with an
average vote of 7.577
2nd place with an
average vote of 7.541
Really close. You did choose the right one, the other one is great but I don't think it would have won. I gave the one you submitted a 10, I would have given your other one a 9 maybe even an 8.

This second one seems a little fake, for some reason. I still like it, but the winning one really communicates fantastic things in an enthusiastic way,and the model looks like she belongs there.

You made the right choice for sure. On this outtake I don't like how the color of the hands connect to the color of the face and as such become hard to distinguish. Also the sleeves of the dress really add to the quality of the angle figure presented.

Awesome Heida! 1st one is the best, 2nd seems like maybe to much dark gray and could use maybe a touch of blue in the middle. Couldnt see the 3rd you posted man I really like! Can I borrow some of your PS skills please.....

I think you picked the best to enter and it shows :). I'm one who believes that Photoshop is a viable skill that is essential to learn in this digital age so don't stop what you are doing. You should work for the tourism department for Iceland because you really make me want to come visit. You have a great eye and a moody style that shines through in your work. This is a tough crowd at (DPC) especially when you win so don't let the naysayers get you down. Congrats to you and the Beat of luck to you!

Tough crowd? Perhaps the vocal ones are. Take a quick look at the number of recent selections as a favourite for Heida, and perhaps you'll find not so tough.
