Canon can't help that! ;-)
To be honest though, given the kit you own below, I'd be fairly surprised if it was comparable.. :-/

What do you think of the 28mm? And what aperture did you get? Considering one myself to be in the equiv 50mm sort of range. (Got a 50mm and 85mm so far.) |

Yup the link works and these are official Canon photos of the 20D with an EF-S 17-85mm IS lens. So it is still a 1.6 crop factor. Interesting that Canon would leak those pics like that...
edit: and there are pics of the new G6 too.

It's the 28mm 2.8 ... I love it. It's gotten me 2 of my 3 ribbons so far. It was only $160.00. Of course, it's not quiet, but it is sharp, and that's more important to me.

What is the functionality of that (the registered AF) on the 10D ?

Well you've sold me! I love Canon's mid-priced sharp-as-a-tack primes. Think I'll add that to my bag when I can next afford it. |

//www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos10d/page8.asp describes it. Sounds like it could be somewhat useful. Eddy might be able to give some "for example" stuff on using it. Does not look like a "must have" feature by any stretch though.

Most important thing is that you can program FEL to this button, and have the other button be autofocus, and the shutter button to be AE lock. Very convenient.

The thread size is as big as the 16-35 F2.8L.... :) |
Does the size of the thread translate into size of the barrel of the lens? And does a larger barrel make for more incoming light? |
There is a relation, but there is no real linear relation between the size of the barrel and the max aperture. The 77mm thread of the 16-35 and the 10-22 mainly refers to the filter size you need to use on them. The 10-22 is not a little lens. :)

Maybe some of that has migrated to the joystick on the back. Most of those types of controls are rock and 'press', so they have navigation and a activation function too.

It's from General Topics posted by Russi.
//www.sdcard.be/Nederlands/store/viewitem.asp?idproduct=8979348
Interesting. Under image quality large JPEG is 3072x2048, same as 6.3 megapixel Rebel or 10D
8.2 effective megapixels, while 6.3 megapixels reproduction.
Same as my Powershot Pro 90IS manual says 3.24 effective megapixels, while recording is only 2.58 megapixels.
Fishy.

A lot of that looks like a cut and pasted 10D article with some updated info. Some has been not updated properly - and given Canon haven't announced anything yet, it isn't much of a surprise that there are things that don't add up.

Check out eBay.
Guy there selling eyepiece extenders for 20D!
Also Lexar 1GB Cf Card 80x for 20D.
This is Hong Kong shipping so there could be some truth in all the rumours.
Have e-mailed him for more details:
Hi,
Never heard of 20D...could you give more details...nothing on Canon Website?

Check dpreview.com and dcresource.com tonight or tomorrow. At dcresource.com they even hinted at their own samples available right from the official announcement. Would not be surprised if dpreview.com will have a full review up soon.

I have been testing the 20D, 580Ex, 10-22mm and 17-85mm today, and will upload some pictures to my websites later today. I also tested 300D vs. 20D, and 10-24 vs. 12-24mm.
First impression is that this camera is extremly fast and easy to work with. I've already ordered a "final" version of the camera, that is expected to be delivered second week in September.
