Was taken good shots, then this, first digital camera ....so no clue what, like to know so I can avoid this in the future important moment...... shot! :{

low light in the room?
or maybe the camera incorrectly metered the scene?

Looks like motion. It also looks like you had your ev set as high as it could go which is maybe what's causing the apparent overexposure. Or did you use night scene flash? That might cause several pops of the flash and your subjects might have moved during the process. The site is down so I can't go back to look for the shadows.

Check the cameras exif information for the shots and post it. Thats the best place to start.imo

Well, motion blur to be sure, but it also looks like you are getting more than one exposure in each image. Check your camera to see if it is in a multi-exposure mode (if it even has one) and go from there.

I think it was a dark interior and the flash wasn't used. The camera automatically set itself for a long exposure which caused more motion blur than normal. Try a similar scene with everything set properly including the flash while keeping as steady as possible through the entire exposure and see if it doesn't work out much better. Let us know what you discover.
