LA DPC Meet - September 26th - DPChallenge Forums

Hi LA DPCers,

Greg & I want to call a Photo Outing on Sept 26th from 3pm to 7pm or so at the Wedge. We can catch some late day surfers, sunset & some dinner!

Eric? Chuck? Are you two game for this? And we'd also like to see if there are any new people who would like to join us this time as well. We welcome new people in the LA/So CA area to join us! We always have a great time. And I think we need more Nikon people so Eric doesn't feel like he's the minority with us Canon folks. :)

haha, true! We need to create a union, not a division, of Nikon & Canon. They are both great cameras! Also, since it's going to be getting cooler, we should start thinking of doing some desert photography, maybe a weekend trip, camping, with night photography for November or December. visit //www.lostamerica.com for some inspiration!

It is very fun that you do this ms Arie, It is my hope if I can perhaps go with you one day. I love to see the pictures you share from this. I will like it very much if I can do it too. I wish you well.

Mieka-

You can still join us and bring a film camera along if you wish. I personally do not care if you bring film or digital to our outings. In fact, we don't really have any other requirement other than you love photography (and bring a camera, of course). If you fulfill that aspect, you are most welcome.

Wow, I guess I missed this post! Yes, I think I'm up for this one as well... I will have to double-check my calendar, as I know I have an event that morning, but if it's not going too long, I would love to go.

What's the wedge?

I may be up for this. I've never done a meet-up like this, so I'd have to give it some serious thought, though.

The Wedge is in Orange County, Laguna I believe. It's an unusual place where the sand bars concentrate the incoming waves and make them large sort of like a funnel. Eric and I have done three LA meets, Arie and I have done two and Chuck has done one. All we do is meet someplace (downtown LA, Venice or Vasquez) and walk around and take photos of whatever we want. Sounds boring but we always have fun. Take a look at my gallery (excuse the crappy open directory style web page) and you'll see photos from our meetings. The photos in the Hawaii 03 gallery don't belong there and I'll remove that shortly.

Wow, is it that time already?! I am still planning to go. My friend Nicole is flying in for business and spending that weekend with me. So, I gotta talk to her. It was really last minute, but she may be totally up for it!!! She's leaving that day, gotta take her to Burbank airport sometime. I don't have the flight info yet. I still want to go though, so I am in for now :)

Well, I have to say...I am going to be the first one to flake out. When this message first posted I thought the 26th was on a Saturday and I have plans for Sunday. I hope everyone has a great time! I look forward to seeing Arie and Greg at the party! Talk to everyone soon.

SInce I am wishy/washy too... you and Chuck should decide whether to go or not. Otherwise, we need to plan a trip sometime when i get my 20D. I am camera-less right now anyhow :(

Okay, so far, I don't have any plans Oct 10th and I better have my 20D by then. So, is anyone else up for that? If so, we can either postpone the wedge or go somewhere else....
