You saw that many water towers just this morning? Wow - I think I've seen about that many in my whole life around Los Angeles. Where do you live that you need so many different water towers?
I guess anywhere that has so much beautiful open space for horses, etc, must need separate water towers for everyone.

...you obviously missed my Framing entry, dear!! |
I haven't finished voting Framing yet (slow 28.8 connection!), but I'm *really* impressed. I have picked more top photos than any other challenge during the short time I've been here. I bet you're just being humble... I can't wait for Framing to end to see who turned in which pictures!

I have to agree with the others, that shot #12 (the barn shot) is my favorite but they are all great. You captured some wonderful blue skies. |

Thanks y'all... I live out in the sticks, I guess you could say. My adventure this morning took me back (if you call 30 miles up the road back) to my high school town of Emory TX, population 514, and the town I grew up in (about 20 miles away) of East Tawakoni (pop. 420), and the adjacent little towns of Point, Quinlan, Lone Oak, and of course, my current hometown, Greenville - which is a HUGE city comparatively speaking (pop. 25K). Needless to say, there are tons of horses, barns, and of course, water towers out here. Guess you have to take pictures of what's available! LOL
heheheh... the self portraits were fun to do while driving down the highway... glad I didn't have wreck!
And DQ: I don't go traipsing through the weeds...I'm more of an indoor girl, I guess you could say...I just stopped and shot from the road or from parking lots and stuff. I'm a big chicken!

You know, Laurie, the state of Texas publishes a magazine (I don't remember how frequently) that features articles and photos about all the great things to see and do throughout the state. I think it's just called Texas Magazine, but I don't remember. When I lived in Austin and worked in publishing, I used to go down to their office to buy some of the photos to use in my own publications.
The point is that you might be able to sell some of your own photos to that magazine, assuming it's still around. If you're interested, I bet they have a copy in your local bookstore or library, which should contain info about submitting photos.
Nice shots, as always! I really like the horses, but then again that's what "Philip" means - "a person who likes horses."

And they say Cell phones can cause accidents... Self portraits while driving? Do I have to take an insurance policy out on you? I need you to still be around long enough for those Xena pics...

My favourites are 21 and 24. They seem to bring out the character of the factory.

From the pics I'd say you had great weather and a fun adventure. I like 3 best of the WT shots. I like 8, what is that body of water? Neat horse. And I'd be dead if I didn't like a woman's-long-hair-flowing-in-the-breeze-while-driving-a-convertible. Good work Laurie.
Those must be the blues skies Willie was singin' about. |

Nice shots, looks like a lovely area with some really nice photo opportunities. I especially liked #1, #12, #20, and #24. |

Thanks for taking the time to look through them, Harvey! It was a great day...glad I went yesterday, because it's been raining off and on today! That lake is Lake Tawakoni, a man-made reservoir in NE Texas - a great place to fish, swim, ski, and just hang out. I grew up about a mile from it.
