Looks like my friends cat, good shot, looks like he/she's winking. I know you say you just got your Nikon, but how do you like it so far? I'm thinking of going with the Nikon, spent some time at the camera shop last weekend playing with it and the Canon. So many decisions :( |

I had the Canon 300D, and I sold it, didn't like it.. to many little things I didn't like about it.. I LOVE the Nikon 70D! The best investment I ever had, and I haven't even fully played around with it. I would go with the D70, it's a really nice camera!

I like the cat's eyes a lot. Nice shot. I am thinking about getting the D70 - maybe as a Christmas gift to myself :). How you like it? Is it everything that you expected?

I have a Nikon Coolpix 5700, I'm still learning. Do you like yours. That's a great black cat. |

I am so happy with this D70! I feel I get more out of it than I did with the 300D.. if you are thinking about the D70, go for it, it's awesome! |

Yup. I am set on getting the D70 during the holidays. Hopefully the price will go down by then.

cute cat :) great shot. not bad for your "first shot" huh? looks good, have fun with the camera, it's an awesome machine ;)
i can't say enough good things about the d70... but anyone waiting on a price drop, i wouldn't think the price will drop much, if at all, for quite a while. the dSLR's hold their price much longer than typical digicams do.

I don't want to turn this into a 300D Vs 70D OK!
Just curious as to what the little things were that you didn't like about the 300D, Karen?

Well there are a couple reasons I like the D70 better than the 300D
1st The 300D had a slower focus.. the D70 you turn it on and it clicks right into focus within a half a second. It's just very quick and that's what I like. When I take photos I don't like to wait around forever to take the next shot.
2nd the FEEL of it.. it has a very nice body to it. With the 300D, you had to put the battery grip on it in order to hold up any long lens. It was ok with the 55mm lens, but if you threw a long lens on the 300D, it tipped foward, so I had to have the batter grip on it, which added more weight to it. I just love how the D70 is built, it's not to heavy, and you can throw a long lens on there without having to add a battery grip to it to hold it upright.
There are just so many features on the D70, you have more control over it.
Don't get me wrong, the 300D is an exellent camera, I just love the way the D70 functions. It's a matter of opinion I guess.
