The thread about RAW images reminded me - if you are not already aware, there is a firmware upgrade for the CP5000 that now allows shots to be taken in RAW mode (previously only JPG or TIFF).

Other useful enhancements include a selectable shutter response speed, an option to turn the internal speedlite off in external sync mode and supposedly better auto focus response. I haven't tried it yet so can't comment but will hopefully upgrade tommorrow.

OK - just upgraded to Firmware version 1.7.

Haven't had time to play yet but the upgrade process was completely painless.

On a slightly similar note - I would highly recommend anyone using version 4.nn of Nikon View to upgrade to version 5.1.3 it's a huge improvement and now includes a file browser that generates lightning fast thumbnails. It also has a very limited RAW image viewer for the .nef files you can create with the firmware upgrade. I think it is compatible with most Nikon Digicams.
