Hi. I am looking for some comments and critiques on my work. I recently added a few of my shots online and would appreciate you going there and helping me to better my work. I know some of them are quite mundane, but please know I have a thick skin and you can be as blunt as you need to be. (just not as blunt as glacierwolf lol, couldn't resist that)

Thanks to any who look and comment!!

Nice clear shots.
My favorites are "hello kitty", "zane 3", "foxgloves"

"rose" is nice, but still the focus is more on the edge petals than the center. I realize it is a soft focus, but I still think the eye is pulled more to the foreground.

Your landscapes are okay. I think they are a bit over exposed in general - esp. the waterfalls.

"stef justin" and "one glove" in the portaits gallery are nice.
I think "michael4" has a too busy background, and I don't like his hand cut off like that. "Michael3" has a good beginning, but the shadow across his middle caused by his arms is too intense. In contrast, "michael2" has nice even lighting, nice tones, and an interesting composition.

interesting flash website.
works well for me. do you have a non-flash version for dial-up users?

I like most of the images as well as the presentation on your web site. One thing I did notice that could help is that you tend to place almost everything dead center. Try to experiment a bit more with composition.

Thank you both for your comments. I do tend to center objects. I have been trying to steer myself away from this, as with this photo //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=84034 also my current challenge entry is off center. I don't really understand about exposure, but it is something I will research and try to work on. My portraits of Michael are my first ever portraits. I was using a blanket as a backdrop and a cheap lamp I purchased with reflective metal on the inside of the shade. The busy background was in my bathroom against the mirrors, and I never considered it busy, but I can see it now. I should have blurred the background a bit, it does take away from the main figure.

I really do appreciate the comments, I am here to learn :) I've only had my camera since January and I'm trying hard to find my own style.

Cheers
